NFL: Appellate court sides with NFL

The owners and players will continue to act like republicans and democrats. They'll **** and moan about each other, pointing the finger at each other saying the other side is fault. Then when it's 11:59 p.m. and about to strike midnight to get something done, they'll "hug and kiss and makeup" and get something worked out.

We will see a full season of NFL football in 2011. I'm willing to bet anything on it.

I agree with you. There is too much money at stake for the season not to happen.

Someone will have to budge. The players used to living a life of luxury and security are going to start sweating when the checks stop coming in and they have bills/mortgages to pay. The players not making millions who have families to support and bills to pay are really going to be like oh s**t

Thus the players are going to have to make concessions in their bargaining with the owners, not the other way around. The owners have billions of dollars and can stay afloat for years, which is not the case for the athletes. Either way, this millionaires vs. billionaires crap is getting older by the minute.

The owners will eventually get the "oh ****" feeling as well.

Even if the owners have put money away from the TV contracts in preparing for the lockout, they'll still want more money. Eventually they'll realize that no NFL season means they get no share of the $9 billion the NFL makes annually.

Yeah I think the owners have the leverage too. Half of them are billionaires who own NFL teams for fun or for the prestige. The players have a lot more to lose.

Good grief. There will now be games missed this season IMO.

If you wanted to see a full season this year, you had to be rooting for the appellate court to side with the players as well. It would have basically been over with.

Now we're back to square one.. or actually in worse shape than square one IMO.

I think games will be missed now. I'm not sure how many? It will depend on which side can go longer without getting paid. So the players will probably give in eventually, but I doubt it will be before the season. It will last several games or more.

As well it should. If I understand correctly you can not break up a union for the sole purpose of gaining an advantage in collective bargaining. It is very obvious that this is what they are doing. I really do not know how the judge in Minnesota ruled with the players.

RTA. that's not what this ruling was about. this ruling determined that the injunction put issued by the Minneapolis judge caused harm to the league, and therefore should be lifted. The issue that you're talking about is still under consideration
