Would like to know more about Ron Harris and his history since playing at Iowa State. Where is he? What's he doing? How does he feel about his son's success? Etc.

Every time I think I've found info to satisfy my curiosity, it dries up. There seems to be some sort of taboo associated with the topic. No one writes about it, talks about it. Why?

Well, Ronnie Harris chose not to "stick around" after Shirley Barnes got pregnant, and then had to be continuously sued for child support, up until even last year.
Does that kinda answer it?

I don't think it's taboo, just that there isn't much of a relationship between them.

But...he is the only player in ISU history to start every game all four years of his career.

I know Ronnie worked at Morningside College in Sioux City in the late 90s as director of multicultural recruitment. Don't know anything after that, though.

I think he has not been a good dad. Shirley deserves all of the credit for raising a good son.

He certainly was an important player to get the Johnny Orr years started. After that I have no idea, but I bet he wished he would have made better choices for relationships in the past. Too bad he gets publicly drug through the mud when there is always two sides to every story.

Thanks for the info. Sad, but a not uncommon situation. Certainly nothing to hide, although it is private. I suspect there might be more to the story but my curiosity has been quenched for now. Hope he and his dad decide to have a closer relationship some day.

I imagine a lot of people would like to see Roy get scoped. That is what he keeps sticking it to us.

Well being sued up until this last year for child support and not being very involved in his son's life is a pretty big indicator.
