Would you rather have the season end the way it did, or end with us beating CU and KSU but losing to Texas and then take Kstate’s spot in the Pinstripe bowl only to lose to Syracuse?

To answer my question I am leaning towards ending the way it did. In the long term I see that paying off more.

I disagree, how many times has ISU gotten that kind of exposure from beating a national power compared to how many times we've been in a random bowl game just like half of the teams in the NCAA. I think in the long term the Texas upset will have a much bigger impact for the program.

This. I'll take the win over Texas any day.

I'm not crazy about going to the Northeast for a bowl game, but if we make a bowl next year, it will likely be one of the last two tie-ins, which are New York or D.C.

That being said, you have to take the bowl game option every time no matter where it is or what the result is.

I'd rather have beaten Texas AND Nebraska AND made a bowl game. Win-win-win right there.

Six wins is better than five. Every time.

A bowl loss is better than no bowl at all. Although I could be talked into a Boise exception.

How many of you watched the pinstripe bowl? I know that I didn't. I do know that after we beat Texas, every person I talked to down here was congratulating the cyclones for the win at Texas. Long term, winning at Texas is a much much bigger deal than going to some lower tier bowl game.

I did. It was there I realized how bad losing to KSU was. We were better than both teams.

Agree on the Texas thing though

Take the bowl game.... and win! Only because none of our guys are stupid enough to salute the crowd after a touchdown!!

That win over Texas was priceless.
We got more exposure from that win, than we ever would have going to a lower tier bowl game.
Too bad we didn't beat both Texas and Nebraska and went to a bowl game though, like somebody said earlier. That would have made last season 1000000x better.

This is a hypothetical thread. Like Ferentz going for it on 4th and 1. Now go get me a sandwich.

The victory over Texas was HUGE !
it shows that we can compete with the big boys ! If we only beat K-State, it'll be "yes, they win the game they have to win and lose the ones they have to lose" - back to Danny Mac era.
