Tim at USC

ESPN - Blue Ribbon: USC - Men's College Basketball

just a little article on Tim Floyd and USC ESPN wrote, they think with Floyd's turnaround of the USC bball program they have a great chance of winning it all this year.
I would have to say they do. With Tim's ridiculous coaching ability, coupled with serious talent, they could become a perennial powerhouse really quickly. Say what you will about the player carousel when he was at ISU, but the guy knows how to play winning basketball.

I don't want to start another "Who's the best BB coach ever" thread, but I will say Floyd was my favorite BB coach.

Here's to McDermott changing my opinion!

He and Eustachy were good friends and he made a public statement that he could never replace Larry.

I liked Tim a lot, but he was just shady enough I think it's best for both parties he moved on.

was he available again when we hired mcDermott. I love Mcdermott but didn't know if Floyd had already been with USC or was looking at the time.

Floyd would have never come back. As good a recruiter as he is, he isn't enamored by it and had to go somewhere that he didn't have to beat the bushes that hard to get talent in.

Yeah, Southern Miss is doing well. They did win 20 games last year. Probably one of the easiest schedules in the country (played 4 d2 schools and played savannah state twice) but he's definitly righting the ship down there and fans are excited.

Floyd doesn't even have to recruit to USC. The players recruited themselves and contacted Floyd to let him know they would be playing for him.

I'm wondering why this thread is under ISU BB and not under General College. This guy has not been the coach at ISU for a long time.
