I love this team, love what Freddie is doing, love the effort but we just simply choked and to me a loss like this is unacceptable. DG consistently crumbles under the pressure, we gotta learn how to finish a solid win before we can even think about making the tournament like some people have already dreamt about. We could easily be a 1 loss team right now. With that said Go Cyclones and blast away if I've offended anyone.

I think the problem came when Iowa State slowed the offense down. We dominated when diante drove and dished, and in the last 5 minutes, we stopped. I'm sure Fred had his reasons, but if you dont score, you cant win.

Wow. What a bad post. DG played every minute and made huge shot after huge shot. What about JVB stepping on the out of bounds line after the rebound? There are tons of what ifs in that game.

The players on this team havnt played in many close games until this year. They dont know what to do. Add in that they are playing 35+ mins.

When they try to take time off the clock it often results in DG getting trapped and he is forced to make tough passes to get out of it. Towards the end of the game it ends up like he is choking/sloppy because our dudes are gassed.

We can not close out a game to save our lives. We are such a great team for 38 minutes, then the last 2 we change who we are and it doesn't work. Ejim makes poor choices, DG tries to take over (Craig Brackins like) and we forget how we got to where we are.

All that said this was one exciting game, and I love watching this team this year every game is a surprise.

Everyone needs to take a step back and look at this logically. We have lost two conference games because we have played poorly the last five minutes of the game. Why could that be? Could it be that we essentially play a 5 man roster? Could it be that our point guard plays 100% all the time for 40 minutes? Could it be the fact that two of our starters are playing 35+ minutes per game with injuries? Could it be the fact that we have thrust a freshman into playing 35+ minutes out of position?

There are plenty of logical reasons why we are struggling at the end of games, and the circumstances of this season are going to make it really difficult to change that.

Completely agree they should not have lost this game. This team has just played too well to be 1-3 in the conference right now. I still think that Fred has this team going completely in the right direction.

DG has to take over. We tell the other 4 to stand on the baseline and watch him. The weave was so beautiful and worked nicely and we decided to go away from it for some reason.

I'm NOT pinning the loss 100% on DG, I just feel that in clutch situations he'll dribble into double and triple teams that result in a TO (Cal) or in this case a charge. He plays great the entire game just the 1 time we need him to finish it doesnt work out , I'm probably not gonna sway anyone just my opinion

Freddy will turn this into a learning experience for Ejim. I won't excuse Scotty or DG down the stretch because they made some mistakes and they're experienced enough to expect more.

Overall, a couple of tough losses will help us down the road.

You have to keep in mind that most of us thought we were going to be sitting where Iowa is right now...... Looking for ways to get to 10 wins for the year.

We have a shot to get to 20.

Wow. Some of our fans truly have no basketball IQ what so ever.

Some of you just get massive hard ons over ripping on DG.

DG was by far the best guard on the floor again yet some of our fans say he was the reason for the loss. When did he crumble down the stretch? When did he make a stupid pass? The only turnover from him down the stretch was a palming call that was rather suspect. In both the Nebraska game and this one Melvin made some bad decisions. He is a Freshman, that will happen. Hopefully he learns from it.

DG had taken over for the last 6 minutes and it was a damn good thing he did! None of our guys were doing anything except DG on the offensive end once OKST started their run. DG kept trying to set up new plays but no one executed so DG had to take some tough shots (mind you he made a lot of them!)

I cannot believe anyone is blaming this loss on DG. The man played his heart out and had an amazing game. His stats would have been great if he'd been going 1 on 1, but they were double teaming him all over the place. We need other players to step up once that starts happening. It took until OT for Anderson to really start making some attempts and that was about it.

We didn't rebound down the stretch.
We should be 18-1 but some things never change with Iowa State no matter the players or coach.
