I just read Hoibergs comment about playing Babb at the 4 and White at the 5 next year. If we do that then who are the other 3? I figure it will be hard not to start Allen and Scott at the gaurds. Does that mean Ejim will be moved to the bench? If we went small again I figured it would be with Ejim at the 4 like this year. I never would have guessed Babbs I thought he was more of a 2 and maybe a 3 if need be. Would we really play a 4 gaurd set? Or can Ejim still play the 3 and move Allen to pg?

He didn't necessarily say that they would start that way. Just that it was a possibility throughout the course of the game. My guess is Babb will come off the bench since he will only be a sophomore while Allen and Scotty will be seniors. Ejim will still start as well.

His intention was to put 4 shooters on the floor at once. Babb is a much better shooter than Ejim.

Fred said at times he's use Babb at the 4 to allow us to have RW and 4 shooters on the floor. The line up he mentioned was
PG McGee
SG Allen
3G SC
4 Babb
5 White

Coach was just discussing options that he'll have next year.

I foresee Babb being Fred's utility sixth man. If he can play the 2, 3, or 4 (as Hoiberg seems to believe he can) he's going to be crazy valuable. Beyond that I see us playing a similar 3 guards, 2 forwards line-up next year with McGee, Scotty, Allen, Ejim, and White. Who the hell really knows though.

I imagine the coaching staff are like giddy high school girls envisioning the different lineups that they can throw out there next year.

The 4 shooters will not only require a bigger guy out to guard the perimeter but it will leave Royce with a one on one situation. There won't be a single player to double off of. It may force a zone which, as we know, can be shot over especially with taller shooters and/or movement.

he was asked about the offense next year without JVB, on the radio show. He said they would have more of a low post game with White, Booker and that he expects the freshman bigs to develop and contribute more on offense next year. OR we could go small with Babb at 4, Scottie, Allen on the wings and McGee at PG, which would give us 4 great shooters around the arc. Said he likes the versatility they could have next year

I hope next year's schedule has some Big Time National games in the Non Conference with a couple at Home. It just might turn out to be just what we need to open the door to the next level in recruiting.

With just Scott and Allen's 3pts shooting this team will be hard to guard. Add in a few other good players, very had to guard. Also if you can free up Ejim he will be a force.

Lets just hope all goes well and we see everyone on the team next year.

Next year we can press because we will have a longer bench.

PG: ?
SG: Allen
SG: Scott C
PF: Ejim
PF: White
6th Man: Godfrey, Booker, Palu, Bapp depending on starting PG
Others: Railey, McGee, Cook, Sledge, Odunsi, McNight

Will be interesting, wouldn't be surprised if he ran different offenses according to who is on the floor.

Talk all you want about possible lineups...but, if Godfrey continues to develop as he should over the year and then a full offseason knowing what hes up against....my guess is its going to be hard to keep that kid off the floor....my lineup as i THINK it will be...

PG - McGee - Palu first in
SG - Allen - Scotty first in
SF - Babb - Ejim first in
PF - White/Godfrey - Booker first in
C - White/Godfrey - Railey first in

This team will be very talented, how it gels, and performs another question....

The present and Future of Cyclone basketball is sooooo bright!!!!
