I have seen previous posts about television. Many have stated that clone zone is very nice to have which I also think it is. The purpose of getting ISU sports on television is for revenue. Iowa State could be best off by becoming partners with mediacom rather than a specific channel. I have the big ten channel and never watch it because I do not care about the big ten. There are a lot of people in this state that have no interest in the Big 12 or Iowa State but do have interest in many other teams in the state. Iowa State along with mediacom would ideally create a channel that people want to watch and pay for. One option that I like is to partner with many of the colleges across the state. Iowa State gets a large portion of money made followed by (UNI and Drake although they may not be able to due to other contracts, and other colleges). Advantage of this is Iowa State will be surrounded by Big 10 teams and have access problems from media focusing on the Big 10. This would help marketing if people were tuning into a channel that interests them (being colleges across the state). It gets people watching the channel and could increase interest in Iowa State athletics. It may not be much money but it may produce some revenue. It may also help mediacom to increase their market share (Not to be doom and gloom but if Big 12 were to disband and ISU is on its own it could be a lifesaver). Obviously, if this is profitable for ISU, other colleges and mediacom then it has been or will be looked into. I personally like the idea of the channel which may allow clone zone to continue and grow. Creates more media attention to ISU sports and other colleges while allowing people out of state to have access to clone zone which is likely the future of 'tv'.

Yeah, it'd be especially awesome if Iowa State owned it's own TV station or something like that....

Yeah. Intentionally alienate those fans who do not have Mediacom. Or force everyone to get Mediacom's criminally crappy service. That sounds like a great plan.

If you can find the money to pay the startup costs and have someone who wants to air that then great. Until then there will likely have to be an alternative.

Wow, how old are you to not know what he/she was referring to? Like 10?

I am aware of that previous sell off of the televsion channel and no I did not know the person posting was referring to the sale. Also, I presume that your reply is meant to be an act of sarcasm when someone asks a question with a sentence 'Like 10?'.

I wouldn't be so upset with it if Mediacom started an online streaming deal. I'd gladly pay $5-$10/month to watch ISU on the Connections channel if I were guaranteed to get all of the games on TV. I guess I was just spoiled over the past few years where the only games that weren't on ABC5 or better were the exhibition games. The wrestling meet and the women's basketball vs Iowa were what really upset me.

I am moving, I need a BIG XII network. Nice try with the mediacom thought though, since probably at tops 50-60% of the fanbase has mediacom.
