With a possibility of the Vikings moving to LA it made me think who would I root for in the NFL. I've had a crush for being a Jets fan ever since Rex Ryan came to town. He's kinda like a Paul Rhoads/Mark Mangino character. Half Mangino's size and half Rhoads' enthusiasm. Who would you root for if your team moved?

I'm not sure there is or can be a backup. I suppose as long as they dont change the nickname I might try to still follow the Vikes. In baseball I have a few teams I root for so it would not be a problem to come up with a back up, but Football just doesnt have that same feel. Plus the Vikes were my first 'favorite' team.

Anyone who plays the Packers or Bears. I wouldn't really watch anyone. I would be focused on my fantasy team if anything.

A move likely wouldn't affect which team is my primary team, as I have cheered for the Atlanta Falcons since 1991 and have never been a local team for me anyway (although my family almost did move to Huntsville, AL around that time). However, the Baltimore Ravens are my backup team, and a big part of that is Ray Lewis.

Regardless if the Vikings ever move, I will never root for the Bears, Packers, or any team from the 90s that everyone in Des Moines jumped on the band-wagon for (49ers & Cowboys)

I find the AFC boring, but I would probably end up following either the Steelers or Chiefs.

If the Vikings move, I'll probably just quit caring about the NFL altogether until there's a team back in Minneapolis.

It happened to me in hockey. They moved the North Stars just as I was starting to follow sports, and I wasn't going to cheer for a team out of Dallas. So I cheered for the Blackhawks, as they were the closest. Then Minnesota got the Wild back in 2000, so I cheer for both now. They've never met in the playoffs, so that's nice.

Teams that I like besides the Vikings.

Broncos (got to go on the field a couple times at the new Invesco Field)
Titans (love Coach Fisher)

Who do Viking fans usually root for in the playoffs?

Go Pack.

I've considered this quite a bit. As a Vikings fan, your forced to think about these things considering the team and management regularly make it as hard as possible to acutally root for them to succeed.

So if the organization were to flee MN today, I would become the newest Cleveland Browns fan. (Yeah I know swaping one history of misery for another).

Top 4 reasons:

1. The Avalanche (Peyton Hillis) - beast mode all the time!
2. I like their current coaching staff
3. I see them as an up and coming team the next few years.
4. They gave Senaca a fair shot, and I think he will still be in the mix for the starting job while he is there and healthy.

Come on Zygy?... the move to LA is one decision I won't be scrathing my head about!

I am a Chiefs fan. My backup is the favorite team of whatever girl whose pants I am trying to get in at the time.
