Interesting post on the CU board

You have to give Matt credit for one thing. He figured out very early the best way to play this market...massage the massive Hawkeye ego and pick at the open wound that is the Cyclone inferiority complex. Both fanbases listen for different reasons, but they both listen. Ratings is all that matter. It doesn't matter if Matt is wrong virtually all of the time (he is, at least about Iowa State). It doesn't matter that he butchers the English language (he does). And it doesn't matter that his manner of speaking is at best "accelerated" and at worst is Woody Woodpecker on crank (it is). Only turning the dial will change things.

It's too bad he can't capture listeners by being GOOD at what he does instead of being his own gimmick.

He has to have set a record for professional non-excellence.
He also hast to be one of the few rivals publishers banned from another rivals site.

Yes, Paul Clark banned him and well played I might add.

CF could build upon this and do the same!!!

Does Matt P. understand that Creighton needed everything to go perfectly their way... and get all the breaks in the last minute or so of that game just to be tied with ISU with 1.6 secs left?

Creighton, not known this year at all for their 3 pt shooting, shoots out of their minds all day long, and still is in the fight of their life. Most teams that shoot like that from 3 pt range win by 15+ pts going away.

And then down the stretch, our best FT shooter on the team misses 3 straight FTs. He may never miss 3 FTs in a row again in his career.

And then, Creighton gets the perfect intentional missed FT bounce to one of their players... which is much less than a 50-50 proposition since ISU has inside position.

And then... Melvin Ejim gets called for a phantom foul that never happened... and which the replay also shows was not even close to a foul.

And then... the Creighton player makes both pressure FTs.

ISU then has ONE thing go their way when JVB's shot at the end doesn't get out of his hands by a split second, but the officials call it good.

But Matt P. would lead you to believe that ISU caught the breaks. Whatever. What planet does he live on? Everything had to go just right for Creighton just to get to be tied. The probability of everything I described above happening had to be about a thousand to one. And that was just to be able to tie the game up.

As for him ripping on Paul Clark.... again.... I would think that Rivals might have something to say to him? He is VERY immature and unprofessional. There is a reason he can't keep a job anywhere.

I couldn't agree more with this post! Spot on!

This post is well done. ISU's offense/fastbreak provided us with open looks all day, yet somehow inexplicably, Creighton's players, whom are not known to be great outside shooters not only hit outside shots, but many which were very well contested. I felt we actually played pretty good defense, they just shot the ball out of there minds.....and they still couldn't beat us. To me this game, although closer than I expected was really encouraging for us that we could weather all of that and still win. Very impressive, and also good to get some experience in a close game as well.

Here's what I find funny about this whole deal:

Ok, so he calls Paul lazy. Fine, whatever, I don't really know, but let's look into Matt himself. So he has BJ cafe which is really only relevant to mens basketball. No one cares about any other sport they have and few care about their basketball team. That doesn't seem like a ton of work to me. He also has a 5 day a week spot on KXNO and a few other radio appearances every now and again. He really doesn't have any factual obligations. Not only all of that, but he also doesn't have much for breathtaking knowledge. Everything is opinion with very little actual information to back it up. It's like he wants to be Cowherd but he really doesn't want to go to the work of actually finding facts. I think if I were on the radio for a few hours a day, I could find the ambition to have some facts or stats or something. I don't really care how hard he works at what he does. What I do care is that he is going after a guy who does work for the Cyclone fanbase. He has done way more for us than Perrault ever will. At the first sign that someone may raise a valid point against him, he will dismiss it as idiotic but will not provide evidence that it is. He will just move on. Take the Pollard email for example. He took that on the radio and completely misrepresented it to his whole audience. It infuriated some and gave the wrong impression of what the email said. I called in to raise that point but coincidentally, I was not let on the air. In fact, no one with a differing opinion was.

There would be so many posts complaining on here if CU would have made that shot on here. I don't mind matt much. He clearly shouldn't/continue to call out Paul, but that just makes him look like an ***. Who cares.

Read the Register . . the officials listened to the sound of the horn . . the shot was gone by then. Don't blame ISU for an unsychronized horn and red light. Besides, ISU is USUALLY comes out on the wrong side of these decisions.

Maybe this is the problem. He needs to find another part time job other than his lame attempt at radio.

The only gift Creighton gave us was hiring away our coach. That was a gift.
You be right.....And its a ... "gift that just keeps on giving"....Greg Mac was one of the worst b-ball coaches at ISU in its history.

No Larry Eustacy here.....Poor Creighton is gonna lose a lot of close games this year so Jays fans better get used to these types of finishes for the rest of this season!!!

Question for bluejay fans....Do you miss Dana Altman? How's that change to Greg Mac working out?

Dude, its been like 3 to 4 games so far. If I was a Creighton fan I think I would be excited about having Greg as a coach and taking ISU to the wire in their own back yard. I think Greg's system/coaching style will fit in there even though it didn't at ISU.

And Dana Altman? He was only looking out for himself. Apparently you don't remember the Arkansas fiasco?

3-1 with only loss to Iowa State. Can't say it is going too bad for him after 4 games under the belt.
