In all hoensty i don't like the new rule that was placed, but i will rant anyways. Should snotty, selfish, overpaid players get fined more? These guys are making over a million dollars a year for playing a game. Most of them don't care about anything other then themself. I'm not saying all of them, but some of them. These $30,000 and $50,000 dollar fines are nothing to them. Thats like me giving someone 35 or 40 dollars for doing something like that. If the NFL wants to make this rule work they need to be fining the players like $95,000 to $100,000 for making the hits they do. You know those guys care about their money, so fine them more. They wont ever do it again. If they hold out or riot. Thats their problem.

I think NFL players should be suspended for hits where they don't lead with their head. :jimlad:

For real though: Let's be honest, this is going to end up like steroid-less baseball...purists like it, I don't. I love watching some cocky WR get his block knocked off crossing over the middle.

Let's not make the game something it isn't. NFL players get paid millions of dollars to play a game, they should earn it. They know the risks. If the game is "too dangerous" they can go get real jobs as far as I'm concerned.

I think that fines should be a percentage of your salary. For the NE player that got fined a few weeks ago, it was a big deal as he doesn't make that much. Yet others don't even care. If you start fining players something like 1/2 to a whole game check then they will take notice.

Fine has to be $95,000+ though

What about the players that only make $250,000 or whatever the league minimum is? You have to differentiate between the high salaried players and the guys that are "scraping to get by".

I think it should be a percent of your salary this way it hurts everyone equally as hard. Someone who wants to get fined 20k for celebrating too much, but makes 15 million that year will just keep doing it because its not that big of a deal versus someone who only makes 3 million.
