Martinez to Play Saturday

A Martinez that is hobbled by a less than fully recovered ankle could be better for us than a healthy Lee. Especially if we can get pressure on him.

There is no way Martinez is 100% on Saturday. A bone bruise is very painful and can sometimes take months to get back to normal. Like Judoka said, I think having a weaker Martinez is better for us than a healthy Lee.

Except it isn't a bone bruise. It's an ankle sprain.
 
This goes against everything I believe in, but ISU needs to find a way to get T-Magic out of the ball game. With all of the dirty hits Nebraska has taken I couldnt give a **** if we take a couple on them. The thing I want to see the boys do the most is have a "punch you in the mouth" mentality. I would love to see our O Line pounding Crick and everyone else on that D Line. PLEASE PLEASE lets send BO WEENIE out of Ames with another lost. This win would top ALL in my opinion.
 
I'm sure they're thinking they'll start him, put us away early, and then let Mr. Lee and the rest of the scrubs scrimmage us the rest of the game. Of course, hopefully it doesn't play out that way. I know I haven't been drinking enough Kool-aid today because I'm really fearful of a Utah PartII right now. However, oddly enough, I did have a dream last night that the Cyclones won out their next 3 games and took the Big12 title game to meet Auburn in a BCS game. It might've been the greatest dream ever... then, I woke up.

How would the coaches and players keep their class and integrity using this approach?
 
This set up is reminding me of the Utah game. Hopefully it doesn't yield the same result.

While it may be mathematically possible to win the North - reality is we are still a ways away from being contenders. Love the progress, hoping for the best, but realistically - Nebraska has the better team this year and while a victory would monumental - this doesn't compare to Utah to me - Utah was unknown - we know Nebraska is very, very good
 
This will definately alter his game. No matter a mild sprain, he will be taped up and wont be as shifty.
 
Pelini originally characterized Martinez's injury as a bone bruise Saturday, but he told reporters Monday that a sprained right ankle kept the redshirt freshman out for the entire second half against Missouri.

If he is slowed a little by the injury it will be better for ISU than having Lee in there. Martinez has some great numbers as a passer, but that is primarily because the WRs have been open by 15 yards and he got it close enough that they could get to them. He is not near as accurate as Lee.
