Our recruiting is awful right now

I was looking at Rivals.com

We didn't even crack the top 50 for our 2011 class...and were DEAD last in the Big 12

Colorado has FOUR commits and they have a higher ranked class than our class of 13

You really don't get this whole recruiting concept at ISU do you? Where would you expect historically the worst B12 program to be?

Utah's recruiting is not much better then ours even now when they are going to be in the Pac 10. Last year we beat out Utah for Shaban Dika.

College Football Recruiting Schools - ESPN

For Tad Ecby we beat out- Minnesota, SMU, Houston
For Kyle Boyd we beat out- Wyoming
For Rob Standard we beat out- Nebraska
Ted Lampkin- Nebraska and KSU
Jared Brackens- Minnesota
Sam Richardson- TTech(rumor), Navy, Air Force
David Irving- Nevada, Colorado State, Fresno State

I also ask if the OP has seen any of them play. We also have 4 and a half months left to recruit some of our other targets. If you remember last year, our best recruit didn't commit until January.

Wyoming, Navy, Air Force, Nevada, Colorado State = Garbage

Not big time college football, as a Big 12 team, we should expect better.

Or else we really do belong in the MWC...

I've come to the conclusion that your obviously a young fan looking for optimism about our program right now, which is fine.

But your also out of your f***ing mind...

Please stop comparing PR to KF, its a different culture and completely different program.

Bigger and better resources at EIU, KF had more resources than ISU does. So thats a horrible comparison.

Talking college football with you is like playing music chairs with a deaf person.
We still start recruiting the same in-staters that Iowa does and dont let that fool you. Unlike Chizik, Rhoads is going after in-state recruits oh the same recruits that ISU is going after. So the building blocks start from in-state recruiting, then you look for out of state talent to fill key rolls. The colors and programs may be different, but the building blocks start with players in state.

If you take the time to look, Utahs class has several recruits with impressive offers.

We have ZERO

Speaking of a "zero". Seems you've motivate no less than 3 (probably more now since the time I began typing this) new threads parodying yours?

Not saying it wasn't a good take, but....:jimlad:

i bet he's talking about shontrelle coming in january.

if were going to talk about KF, then i wonder, how many of those players from that 2002 team were recruited to a 3-9 iowa team? Most i'd say. How many stars they were? Most were not more than 3.

Then maybe we don't belong?

People were ****** when it was brought up this summer (myself included), but maybe thats just reality.

I would rather be a great MWC team than be a future Big12 doormat for years to come...

Nevada is in the top 25, are we? Dont let the AQ idea blur your vision cause remember what happened last night.

Way to not mention TTech, Nebraska, KSU, Minnesota. Nevada is ranked, Air Force is ranked. Navy also just murdered Missouri last year.

Again have you seen any of the recruits play?

You just dont have a clue about what Iowa and ISU have to go through do you?

Nevada isn't in the Big12 and doesn't have to compete against Big 12 athletes on a weekly basis.

Like I said, a young fan. Save the 12 year old one liners for your boyfriend, don't waste my time.

People like you are precisely the reason we struggle with resources. You constantly ***** even though you know nothing about what you are talking about, recruiting specifically. DO have a clue why those guys don't have a bunch of offers? Because most of them were early commits. After someone commits early, especially someone like the type of player we get, they will not get a bunch of offers. Both Sam Richardsens had a fair amount of BCS interest. Ecby has had the same. Lampkin last year the same. Either FSU or UF wanted Johnson to play defense. Standard had BCS offers. I think Nelson did. Dika had a Utah offer. How long would you like me to go. The fact of the matter is that you have no idea what their actual offers and interest levels are. You just go to your little rivals site every once in awhile, take a look, figure it is all gospel truth and then come here and ***** about recruiting. This may come as a shick but rivals doesn't know everything. I would say they are 75% accurate on offers or potential offers. We have to go get the top tier teams second choices before they do. They will come knocking if the player isn't locked down.
