NFL: Moss is a Viking

You must not have read your own article.

Apparently you need to read closer:

Randy Moss' improbable return to Minnesota is about to become reality.
When the trade is completed, the Patriots will have two picks in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 draft -- their own picks and a first-round pick from Oakland, a second-round pick from Carolina, the third-round pick from Minnesota and a fourth-rounder from Denver.
Everything in the article is a form of FUTURE TENSE.

By the way, it has just been announced on Mike and Mike that it is official.

Read on:

A source close to Moss told ESPN NFL senior analyst Chris Mortensen that Patriots coach Bill Belichick informed Moss of the trade on Wednesday morning by telephone. The source said the conversation was cordial, with both men expressing appreciation for the time they spent together.

Moss will report to the Vikings on Wednesday and is said to be "excited" about returning to his original team with Brett Favre at quarterback, the source said. No contract extension talks have been conducted, but it is expected the two sides will have a discussion later in the day, the source said.

1. a source close to Moss.

2. Just because Bellicheck informed Moss of the trade doesn't mean it was OFFICIAL at that point.

Like I said, everything in this article is FUTURE TENSE.

That being said, it's official NOW.

Well I was able to get Favre traded off my fantasy team, now I have to get rid of Moss too.....damn. I can't stand to even watch Favre play anymore, maybe I can get a good trade for Moss.

How do you miss the point where it says he WILL REPORT TO THE VIKINGS WEDNESDAY. Those six words say done deal.

How do you miss the point where it says When the trade is completed. Those 5 words trump your six words.

It says that three paragraphs earlier about the other three teams involved. You can have those words and call it what you want, but when it says WILL REPORT, that was good enough for me.

WILL REPORT does not make it official. WILL REPORT is still speculative. It's official when it's rubber-stamped "OFFICIAL".
