Anyone awake for Ryder Cup?

Had yesterday and today off, stayed up last night until I could and slept all day so I could stay up all night tonight!!

--Good lord it looks miserable over there!! At least it is 60 degrees.

Watched the first hour and I attempted to watch again in the last hour...doesn't seem like I missed much. Hope this rain stops at some point for them.

I thought we would get rolled by the Euro's, but after the first two rounds being up 6-4 I am pleasantly surprised.

Ricky Fowler halves his match after being down 3 with 3 to go and that makes it so all Mahan has to do is halve to retain. He promptly falls down 2 and on 17 leaves the tee shot 15 yards short and then barely chips it onto the green. I have no idea why he was in that last pairing. You need to have soemone there who can handle pressure if it comes and Mahan is not that guy.

I was thinking the same thing about having Mahan as the anchor...but if you think about it, Pavin probably wanted his guns out early to get us in a position to even have a chance at the end. If we had all our top players in the last few matches, they might not have even mattered by the time they were almost finished.

Agreed, and it's not like the loss is all on Mahan. If that bunch of zombies hadn't showed up and played in the US's clothes yesterday, it wouldn't have taken a miracle to pull the thing off today. Several US players put a helluva effort into the comeback today....glad they didn't roll over.

I'm not at avid golf watcher by any stretch of the imagination, but I freakin' love the Ryder Cup. The passion that goes into every shot is awesome.

Tiger birdieing 9-13 was pretty damn sweet. Must've found some young blonde welsh ladies last night...

I agree it wasn't all Mahan's fault. But that was a semi-choke job on 17. Although, I'm sure he had half a turd hanging out his back end over the tee shot.

I didn't see the end as I left for work at 7:45 so I only know what I read as far as following it on the blogs. It did sound like he hit a couple of poor shots so he'll have to live with that. I'm sure there will be some that will focus on Mahan's last hole but I sure hope it's not a career defining thing for him. He seems like a decent kid and he doesn't deserve that.

I have to think most will agree with what we're saying here. The US had plenty of chances to put up that half a point and it's not like he ****** away a big lead. He did a pretty good job to stay in that match as McDowell (who I think is cooler than hell, wish he was on our team) was nails all weekend.
