Eric Voelker new Assistant Coach

Nice! His nephew Trevor wrestles on the team also. I use to play AAU baseball with Trevor back in the day.
 
Good news. I always like to see former Cyclones come home. Congrats to Eric and I'm sure Kevin made a good choice.

I think I agree with the bias. When Cael was hired as head coach he was the most popular name in wrestling.

I had to look up who Voelker was, and I thought I did a pretty decent job of following ISU wresltling.

I agree with a previous post that KJ must have been turned down a few times. Shouldn't we be able to have our pick of small school head coaches or about 3/4 of the assistant coaches in the country with the status of our program?

You say you followed ISU wrestling but had to look up who Voelker was/ :twitcy:

This tells me you never really followed ISU wrestling to begin with.
 
Sounds to me like you guys dont rememberVoelker like I do.He was a friend of mine through college and an awesome wrestler.
I've heard he was a beast in the room.That hasnt changed....he'll still pound the guys to get better.Great choice for a room assistant.
 
My apologies for not starting to follow Cyclone fresh out of the womb. To think, I wasted like 8 years of life before following Cyclone wrestling...:wideeyed:

Yeah, I probably should have known who he is, my bad, but what are the chances of recruits who weren't born until the 90's knowing who he is?
 
i think kevin jackson made a great hire.welcome home coach voelker.we will all support you and good luck in your new assignment.
