I'll start by saying that from what we have seen in the first two games Chizik is not the coach of the year. But imagine a team that continues to improve like it has over the past three weeks. If that continues, the Coach of the year award should definately go to Coach Chizik. Right now we will have to vote on faith.

Go to Coach of The Year

You must select the Coach and then put in your name and email address, but you can vote once/day. They will be using the fan vote to select the finalists at the end of the year and if we want Chizik to have a shot then we need to start voting once a day now. While we are seeing improvement from game to game there is no reason not to vote for Gene.

Don't forget to vote everyday!

I did not follow the link, but a coach of the year vote after 3 games is pretty much the dumbest thing ever.

but if you read the post, Cyano explains....if we want chizik to be a candidate later we need to start voting now.

Exactly! I agree that coach of the year at the beginning is ******** but what they are doing is getting a feeling of how the fans feel for their coach throughout the whole year, and not just the response of some big games at the end. On the chance that we feel Chizik should be in contention later on we need to vote starting now just to keep pace with other coaches that are already getting the votes. A coach that takes a team like we saw in the first game and turns them into what we hope we will be seeing at the end of the season is what Coach of the year is supposed to award. But if we wait till the end to vote, Chizik will already be too far behind for it to matter. Vote now and if we don't continue to see the improvements then obviously there is no need to keep voting. But for now lets atleast try and keep pace with the other coaches. Right now Chiziks name is not even listed with the rankings for division I. You can see that by clicking on "The Standings" and it will show a listing of the coaches currently being looked at.

The fat jokes about Mangino never get old. In all honesty, I worry about him. He's obviously a solid coach, I don't want to see the guy die young because of something foolish.

No, they don't get old, which is why I keep making them. On the health issue though, he should take a look at what Bolt did for himself and his family.

We have lost to 2 mac teams and a Div 1AA school, and you guys are talking about coach of the year?

This year has just turned into a testing ground for a new staff to see how much work they have to do. Play the young talent more.

Repeat after me: 2 MAC teams and a FCS something. Who scheduled these tough games 10 years ago? I want Army, St Angelo State, Flordia International on our schedule. Keep Iowa though.

You still want Army after what they nearly did to us two years ago? :wideeyed:
