Does Iowa hold Arizona to under 21?

I don't think the Cats will score much against Iowa's D. I'm thinking 14-17 points max.

I also don't think Iowa will have any trouble scoring on Arizona. Iowa's running back combo will be too much.

Prediction: Iowa 45, Arizona 10 (Arizona gets 10 meaningless points in the fourth quarter like ISU did. I think Iowa will want to make a big statement with this win)

Honestly, I hope Iowa gets their *** beat. I don't see it being a blowout, regardless.

I was confident...until my wife wore my lucky game shirt to bed last night and the "luck" did not carry over. I'm afraid my shirt may be tainted and hence the Hawkeye football season could go into a tailspin starting in Arizona.

You mean you did not get the ball into the end zone?

:biglaugh: Too much information, LD.

I think Arizona is vastly overrated while Iowa is probably about right or a tad low.

Arizona crushed The Citadel and Toledo.

I realize Toledo beat ISU a few years ago, but really, ISU >>>>> Citadel and >>>>> Toledo.

Arizona looks good on paper. Iowa, however, looks pretty damn good in person.

It'll be tough. Stoops is going to have the Wildcats ready for this one. Plus Norm won't be on the sidelines, so if the defensive coaches aren't ready for this game, and able to make adjustments, it could be trouble.

The Iowa front four will need to make Foles uncomfortable in the pocket, while the LBs and secondary will need to take away his targets. If Iowa jumps out ahead early, it could set the tone for the game. Iowa's run game will need to be HUGE for this Saturday.

This could be a difficult game for the Hawks. They play a night game at Arizona. Kickoff is at 9:30 pm central time. That's a long time to wait to take the field.

Wasn't an issue last week for Iowa's D, but then again, ISU didn't give them much to worry about.

This could be a "trap" game for the Wildcats. They have a huge Pac 10 opener against Cal the next week.

I think Iowa is sitting pretty.

I think if Iowa gets off to a fast start this game could get ugly. But if Arizona is still in it after the first, it will be a close game. I think Iowa is going to be very hard to come back on this year. If they can get an early lead then they can pound the ball on you, wear down the clock. Also to score on Iowa you need to be patient and take what they give, that's going to be hard to do if you're down early, and trying to force something to happen. If any team has to start throwing deep to try to come back, Iowa's DL is just going to eat them up and force turnovers.

True, but the coaches and team are well aware of the late start. They've been prepping for it.

Are there teams out there that aren't aware of what time they play that week? I don't think the Hawks are going to show up at noon and wonder where everyone else is but the late start could affect them, their last couple trips out west have not went well.

My bet would be on a low scoring game. Something like 20-14 Iowa.

I agree. I think Arizona will get the win though. Iowa usually chokes in one of the first 4 or 5 games any given year. Its good though, they can blame Zona for not getting the BCS title this year.
