Is it just me...

they did win 49-10
Absolutely. They also ran up over 500 yards of offense. However, WKU is a horrible football team. I know it's the first game of the season, but Nebraska is supposedly a top-10 team based primarily on the strength of their defense. To give up 300 yards to WKU including 155 rushing yards to Rainey is not exactly a strong statement.

Agreed. Just so everyone know, WKU is a Sunbelt team on a 20 game losing streak. So Taylor Martinez, who WKU didn't even really have an opportunity to gameplan for, ran fast and threw a couple nice passes. Big deal. This is similar to the EIU-UI game where the opponent is so bad, that a dominant performance is expected and doesn't really say anything about the team. We should learn a little more about NU next week when they play Idaho, who actually won a bowl game last year and are 1-0 after a 45 pt win this week.

You dont lose a guy who puts up the numbers of an entire line by himself, and replace that easily. Been on the overrated list for awhile.

Win you're winning by 39, you tend to relax a little bit, not play as hard and give up more than you normally would. I'm going to take a wild guess that the first team wasn't in there giving 100 percent all game long. There's not a whole lot of knowledge that can be taken about Nebraska from this game.

I agree with this. However, the idea that their defense is better than last year's, as the media and fans have claimed over there, is ridiculous.

I'm sure we (ISU fans) would be saying the same thing if we just got done beating WKU 49-10 to start the season.......

Everybody starts a little slow the first game of the year. Florida looked garbage, so did Oklahoma. Does that make all of them overrated?

219 of those were in the second half. Florida Atlantic had 358 yards last year in the opener, so clearly this year's Nebraska defense is much better.

See how fast this can get dumb?

Nice to see a voice of reason! WKU had 77 yards of total ofense at halftime and of those 219 2nd half yards, 46 came on one play, which just may had been WKU's biggest play of the night.

Bo was visibly upset in his post game presser with the defense, but for the first game, they didn't play that bad.

WKU didn't cross the 50 until 5:00 to go in the 2nd quarter. The biggest thing Bo is upset with is the fact that the defense lost their intensity in the 2nd half. Even so, I was a little discouraged to see them run the ball so well in the 2nd half. The problems had just as much to do with losing your two starting linebackers (the latest just on Thursday) to injury in fall camp as it does with losing Suh. First real test about the run "D" will come against K-State.
