3rd round pick.2ND ROUND PICK...I don't think that he is an NFL quarterback
I'm shocked a short...QB
he's not a very big guy
The guy went down in the draft faster than a White House intern. Great collage QB, just debatable whether he fits the NFL.
I'd be shocked if he were cut though, franchises don't like to admit failure this early with first and early 2nd day picks.
Yes, because you must be a minimum of 6'5" 230 lbs. to play QB in the NFL. Don't tell that to Steve Young, Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, or Drew Brees (all 6'2" or shorter. All Super Bowl winners in the last 15 years.)
Current NFL starters like Mark Sanchez, Donovan McNabb and Aaron Rodgers are 6'2", while Alex Smith and Matt Leinart are 6'5".
You are correct. Broncos took Clarrett with the last pick of the 3rd round back when the 3rd round finished the first day of the draft. However, Clarrett and McCoy are two totally different situations. Broncos drafted Clarrett when he had not played football in 2 years prior to his drafting.Didn't the Broncos cut Clarrett before the season started? I remember him getting taken early in the second day. I could easily be completely wrong on all of this.
For one thing, McCoy is 6'2" 217. Kurt Warner played at 6'2" 215. Height and weight of a quarterback is not the deciding factor in whether or not a quarterback is/will be great or not.Tell me when Colt hits 5'10". It's not impossible, look at Flutie or even Seneca, but you need to be a great player to make it work.
Wow, this is what Sporting News and others are running off of...Here is a link to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Nice paragraph about Seneca, McCoy is in the last paragraph about making the cut. Not much else said.
It's a brave new (improved) world for Eric Mangini's second season with the Browns: Tony Grossi analysis | cleveland.com
That is not a "report" as Sporting News was claiming. It's a ******* opinion. Still no quotes from the Browns on it either.Observations, Opinions and Some Facts ...
4. Players who appear to need good showings in the last two games to make the roster include linebacker David Veikune, tight ends Robert Royal and Alex Smith, running backs Chris Jennings and James Davis, quarterbacks Brett Ratliff and Colt McCoy, and receiver Carlton Mitchell.
