I think we will play a ton of WRs this year, so it would be really hard to have too much depth there.
And while I agree you can never have "too much" depth at any position... you can have too much depth that will not allow VERY talented guys to not see the field much... and therefore lead to them being unhappy. I think that could definately be the case for us at RB?
We play 3, 4, and sometimes 5 WR formations... so there is a lot of playing time to go around there. We are primarily a one-back offense at RB though, and we have 7 quality guys fighting for that spot. It seems right now that it goes ARob #1 and Woody #2... with Blankenship, White, SJ, and Hollis all fighting for #3.
A LOT of great things have been said by the coaches regarding SJ and Hollis, so the two odd men out right now seem to be Blank and White. Although I think they are both really talented, I would not be surprised at all to see one or both of them transfer. I hope not, but I wouldn't blame them either. Especially if we land Robert Standard. Then we really have quite the stable of backs. Really too many when you consider all the other positions on the team you need to have depth at as well.
