First of all, talk about redemption. I remember reading an article about him and he said something to the effect that he was really hoping to get one more chance with the game on the line to win one.

I realize that the kicks he's missed in the past were in bigger games (Big XII Title implications), but I can't help but be thrilled for not only the Cyclones, but for Shaggy.

He's improved every year and I figured that the kicks he's missed this year were tough anyway. So it's great to see that he won a game for us. This bodes very well for the rest of the season.

We needed a heart-attack type win to maybe change the way the team thinks. No one needs to focus on the lack of touchdowns, simply the win. Shaggy gave the team exactly what it needed. Congratulations to him.

Mr. Culbertson, you may now take the monkey off of your back.

I was in that crowd following Shaggy out of the stadium. The grin on his face was extremely infectious. Can't help but feel for the guy -- he finally made the big kick!

Congratulations to Mr. C! You really came thru today. Go out and have a great season, and have fun doing it.

Five of Six (with one off the upright) and his first GAME WINNING KICK. Who still thinks we need a new kicker?

The special teams were awesome today! They won us the game. Not only Shaggy coming through with the pressure-packed kicks (especially the last one), but the FG-blocking unit snuffing out a crucial Iowa scoring chance. I'm thrilled for Shaggy, and thrilled for the team in general. I hope this is a sign of things to come for the rest of the season. It sure feels good to get the monkey off our backs -- especially in such a dramatic way!

Great job today, Shaggy. I'd buy a beer for you if I ever saw you at one of the Ames bars.

Talk about a pressure kick. Getting that snap down and the kick up over the line. Wow.

This makes me so happy! I've been fighting for the validation of his skills for three years, and finally, I have a clutch kick to back it up. I also managed to get a camcorder into the stadium, so I've got the game winner recorded! Hats off to you Shaggy, you've waited far too long.

I'm happy for the kid. Every point we scored tonight was from him...
Actually after his 2nd or 3rd field goal I made a comment about how funny it'd be if we only scored by field goals and still won the game... I didn't think it'd actually happen though!

Either way - a W is a W, and it's a big W for Shaggy. Congrats again

I was thinking about mentioning the same thing, but I was afraid I would jinx the game.

I was suprised to see Shaggy kicking off, he has really improved his leg strength this year... Good to see no short side options to set up a short field goal from the hash... One of the few times the coaching staff has put him in a position to succeed in the last few years.

Please but that video on the internet... I would love to see the ending on youtube or something. Sweet redemption.

Just watched SportsCenter's top ten plays of the day, and Shaggy's game winning FG was #4! To me, the most impressive thing was how much the camera was shaking while showing Chizik throwing his hands in the air. Rivals the clips from top ten stadiums in the nation. Hats off to Shaggy for being AMAZING, and the FANS for going ape**** throughout the game!

I recorded the gamewinner on my cell - you probably can't even see the kick, but it's really sweet to see everybody's reaction when it goes through. Total raw emotion. I've been trying to email it to myself so I could youtube it but it's not going through. I'll keep trying.
