During the week of July 27 - Aug 1, I attended the Buick Club of America, (yeah, there is such a thing), National Meet at ISU outside of Hilton and the Scheman Center. Around 300+ cars and 700 people attended.

Heard many comments from participants form all over the US, Canada, and even from as far away as New Zealand, (no he didn't drive a car), on how well we were all treated by The University and the City of Ames. So thanks to all the local folks that made our time there so enjoyable! Never thought I'd tailgate in lot C-2 for any reason other than football or basketball, but there I was enjoying a cold one while sitting on the running board of my '39. Great practice for September 2, and the upcoming victory over NIU!

I know that most on here could not care less about an antigue car show featuring Buicks, no less, but still, you can be proud of the local Cyclone contingent, and of how well they treated us all. A special thanks to the town of Jewell who put on a pork, sweet corn feed for the 100+ of us who drove up there on Friday night to party. Super great time!

By the way, there was talk by some of the Jewel locals of neutering the few Husker folks who drove over from Ne, at the local Jewel Vet Clinic on main street. Didn't happen though.

Nice car cyowa.

Nice car cyowa.

Thanks, but that isn't my car, just one I especially liked parked near Hilton. Mine is a '39 and in great condition too, the pictured car is an early thirties car and definitely is gorgeous. I tried to post a picture of mine but for some reason was unable to. I'm sure now that this post is on page 2, it doesn't really matter.

Glad you had a good time, wish I had known about it. People need to learn about Buicks, they are fantastic rides. Here are a couple favorites:

The Lesabre and Y-job concepts from the gm heritage museum were at the salisbury auto show 2-3 years ago.

That Wildcat II does somewhat resemble the Corvette of the same era, although the Wildcat is a little more "wild". Too bad Buick didn't bring that one to market...
