Two words:
Erin Andrews 3d
Cheerleaders 3d
3D is the dumbest idea corporate big wigs are trying to throw at us. Oh, we will have a 3D channel so you have to buy a special tv to watch it they'll say.
Then cable providers will get involved and make you buy a new 3D box.
That way the guys who own mediacom, comcast, sony, and panasonic can hawk their new wares at ya and get a kick back from people like espn who put that crappy station on the air.
And, by the way, do you know how stupid people look with those glasses on?
Good luck if you think Andrews and Cheerleaders will be in 3D. Maybe a little hologram so they look they are coming out of the screen.
It's going to be little advertisements and such that actually look 3D.
3D would be cool if you didn't need glasses and if it was as clear as HD.
Correct. This won't catch on with ide use until they can get around the glasses issue. It sounds like the new Nintendo DS system does 3D without the glasses. If they can scale that technology up to a big screen TV, it may have a future. If not, it will probably remain a niche item for tech enthusiasts.
Mine supposedly does 3d. Haven't tried it.
