Updated Depth Chart

I'm a little alarmed at how light some of these linemen are.
Burris @ 276, Neal @ 227, Mansfield @ 253, W. Scott @ 214...
These sizes have been updated for summer, right?
Hope my concerns are unwarranted.

Those are not updated. I know Burris is around 290, and Neal is around 240.

The most recent NCAA Football video game rosters have them bigger. Just rolled Nebraska in the videogame. It was more than 9-7.

Someone please tell me that Kevin Hamlin is not still under 200 pounds. If Jake Knott were to get hurt, that would be atrocious. Our freshman LB would be pressed into immediate service is my guess. George is hopefully good to go.

All of those weights will be updated I'm sure when we hit Media Day next week. I think that the players get measured and weighed when they check in for fall camp.

Other than the updated weights, I'm going to be really interested to watch a couple of things on the depth chart next month leading up to NIU:

1. How big of a move do Chris Young and Albert Gary make onto the depth chart? Can they displace Jennert/Blanton/Range/Lenz?
2. When and where does Shontrelle Johnson make an appearance? I'm betting that by the time we hit the end of August, he's at least 3rd string.
3. Does Rony Nelson show up at any point? Sure looks to me like he's not part of the 105, so we won't see him until classes start on 8/23.
4. I'll be interested to see if Woods and Laing can make a jump on the DL.
5. Where will Jeremiah George show up? You know that he will be on there somewhere.
6. Does Jeremy Reeves have the CB spot locked up when Benton goes up to NB? Or can Young and Watson give him a run?
7. Sims...this is more of a CPR thing than a depth-chart thing.
8. Can O'C lock down the FS spot, or can Brooks/Broomfield/Givens actually make it a competition?

We have the same talk every year at this time. Chances are this depth chart changes about 5 times between now and the first game

Don't forget that Benton could slide in as could Lattimer. Benton played quite a bit of that hybrid role last year. IMO-In the Big 12, WILL/SAM are as much about coverage abilities as anything. We just won't see too many power running games

I will bet money that TB is at the nickel spot well over half the time this year. I would say 3/4 of the time he will be there. Having not heard anything on Rony, my guess is he is on track to be here. He only needed the one class so I am sure we would have heard about it by now if he didn't make it.

Hicks is slated to replace Haughton and must be good to go. Sims and Moore are still on there. Van Der Kamp is behind Kuehl for now.

IF the depth chart remains the same into the season, we will only lose 3 starters next season on defense. sims, oconnell and parker. if the defense can hold their own with these players this year, we should be pretty salty on D next season. DL and SS worries me still.

offense is a different story with 6, losing both skill players and others. AA, Arob, A Alverez, J. Williams, Lamaak, and C. Franklin.

I might lean the other way. He is not on the roster, unlike every other freshman this fall. We go through this every year. If you are not on the full fall roster chances are you are not going to be on the team in the fall.

Woe is me. The chart never remains the same. Stuff happens.

Ummmmm.... you obviously haven't seen the other thread yet where he is interviewed on Cyclones.com. George is a freaking monster.
