I just wanted to see who else out there thinks that this is the best segment that Miller and Deace do in the morning? I want to hear about all the ISU/Iowa sports, but instead of rehashing the same stuff over and over everyday during the offseason .(ex..Big Ten Expansion day after day). I would much rather listen to a fun segment like this once a week and test my metal versus the callers instead of talking about Steve's bro-mance with Jon, or any Lost episodes that got plenty of attention this winter. What do you guys think? I wish it were a regular segment throughout the year.

I dont enjoy it that much but then again I dont know 75% of the songs that were played today.

I will agree that the change in subject matter is nice.

Isn't there an app on the iPhone that could hep you cheat? I thought there was an app that could listen to music on the radio and then tell you the name of the song and the artist.

They played a nirvana song and a John mayer song.

It saddened me that the only time they stepped outside that timeframe was for a Backstreet Boys song. Very telling.

I would have to agree that jon's song selections sometimes are a bit strange, but again it makes the competition harder. I was born in 82' so his 70s-early 80's songs are pretty tough on me unless they are mainstream. Some of his "favorites" should strip him of his mancard, but it makes for good radio.

I dont want to make every set a layup. I like to challenge people. This is the first time we have done Beat It since last summer..fun to break something like this out, out of the blue.

re: The Lost stuff...we talked about that show for 20 minutes a week, max, and some folks act like its all we did. I guess I should be thankful that so many people were listening to the program at 6:30 on Wednesday mornings to be irritated about that segment ;)

You guys should push Beat It to cover '68-03, or something like that. Work a little wider range. Definitely enjoy the segment though.

Each contestant should get a five second "extender" option. There was a lot of them I would have known with a little more time.

It's a nice change of page but I stopped listening to it last year because nearly all of the songs were from the 70s and 80s and I didn't know 3/4 of them. If they extended into the 90s and 2000s, I will jump back on the wagon.

I think you guys should continue to put it into the program somehow, especially before football starts. It is a great way to start the day on the commute to work and get the brainwaves flowing, not to mention I loved it when you guys called it a beat o**, for playoffs. Maybe it is the 3rd grader in me, but made me laugh everytime.

It is fun and since I'm about the same age at Miller and Deace, the songs are very relavent to me. That said, at first I was a bit disappointed when I heard "Beat it" was up next, but in the end, it was a good time.

Deace did get burnt on the Johnny Cash song though. Seriously, that was easy and I'm not a country music fan. You just have to know that riff!
