COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police said a desk clerk shot a man who was attempting to rob an east side motel on Saturday night.
Officers said that shortly before 9:30 p.m., a man walked into the Super 8 Motel, located at 2055 Brice Rd., showed a gun and demanded money.
Police said the desk clerk on duty then shot the alleged robber, Antoine Stephens.
Stephens, 20, was transported to Grant Medical Center and was in serious condition on Sunday morning, NBC 4 reported.
Police said he would be charged with aggravated robbery.
3 shots fired, all 3 hit the bad guy, gun was a glock 23, 40cal with 165g Gold dots
the thing is, he had balls to stand up against the robber, but what if the robber returned fire once he saw his gun, especially with the kid next to him

ehh, the most danger the kid was in was from the robber and its ears getting rung. In that close of quarters the dud would have had to really suck to miss the bad guy enough to hit the kid.
Quick to pull the trigger? How do you figure, there was a guy with a gun - deadly force in self defense is perfectly acceptable in that situation.
I agree - if he hesitated then the situation becomes much more dangerous as the robber could have grabbed the mom & kid for cover or could have started shoting himself. Let's not confuse who is the bad guy here.
Criminals like him want to avoid people they know are armed. He won't go back for seconds where he may end up taking one in the face instead. He would have never gone into that motel if he had known the clerk was armed.
I didn't see the gun on the guy, so I thought he was the only one with a gun. Also, he shot at him a few times when the guy was running away....the police typically don't look too kindly upon this.
I'm definitely not confusing who is the bad guy here. I am, however, taking a realistic view of the situation. I don't make the rules.
