50 states, 50 "awesome" vacations

I like Iowa a lot but it's just not a good vacation destination. There is really no way to sugar coat it.

uh how about a tubing down the river vacation sounds pretty fun to me. :smile:
 
I love Iowa too, but the problem is the premise. The word "awesome". I believe you can have nice trips, enjoyable vacations, etc. in Iowa. But IMO, there are only a few places on the planet that create "AWESOME" vacations.
 
Was just in Deadwood 2 weeks ago. fun, but not as fun as the parks in the area.
 
You can make a weeks trip out of Iowa by starting on one end and going across the state. I think you could find things to do. I'm just not sure any of them could be considered "awesome."

They probably didn't put the fair on there just because it's limited to a few weeks.

I haven't looked at all of the states to see if they ahve anything like this, but I'm guessing it's in the same category as the fair. It's not an all summer thing. It's for a specific period of time.
 
Ragbrai or a weekend at the state fair would both be better vacations than the birthplace of john wayne unless you were a huge john wayne fan
