I think our offense should dominate. I think Arnaud will have a breakout season, and our OLine will continue to dominate as Arob continues to dominate. 7 wins is a very realistic expectation

Arnaud should break out. Its his second season in the spread and under Herman, and hes healthy along with all our receivers right now. If I recall going into last year Darks and Johnson were supposed to be two of our best WR's.. Darks was hurt most of the offseason and Johnson got hurt the first game.
Part of Arnauds struggles previous years is he's had 3 different coaches, hopefully he is now comfortable with this system
So Lyle, Frere, Garrin, James Smith, and Banks were just chopped liver then, eh?
I like the talent that the Cyclones have at a lot of spots on D. I definitely love the potential of Klein, Knott, and McDonough. Furthermore, I really anticipate that Johnson, Sims, and Parker will likely bring a lot to the table with regard to leadership and ability. However, all that said, the group will still be lacking in experience and "firepower."
Also, quite frankly, if the only thing the D will miss is Jesse Smith's mentality and football smarts ... then that could actually prove to be a substantial loss. Statistically, the ISU D got carved up ... however, what saved their behinds was how opportunistic the group was. The problem is that younger defensive groups are rarely as successful when attempting to be opportunistic as compared to veteran groups. And therein lies the key advantage that the '09 D had. The '09 D was successful in translating that experience into turnovers. I distinctly recall the '08 Minnesota D being similarly opportunistic ... and that contributed to the Gophers having a huge turnaround in their record. However, the following year, while their D was still pretty darn experienced, they lost some of the key components of their D that were responsible for the lion's share of the turnovers. Similarly, I could see a similar thing happening to the ISU D.

While the ISU WR corps certainly has a lot of potential, the group is certainly going to have to step it up in the consistency category. Furthermore, you might be underestimating the impact of the departures of Stephens and Haughton.
Who will be better than Lyle when it comes to pass-rushing skills?
There are some promising young guys, however if they opt for undisciplined penetration then there will be a corresponding tradeoff.
With sincere all due respect to Lyle, our pass rush simply cant get any worse than it was last season. It flat out cant.
So its not unreasonalbe to assume it will be better this year.

True, true. But I think the key to an improved pass rush for us is in those two tackles. If they can get upfield a bit, it creates opportunities for the ends. 1) it flushes the QB into a DE's arms, 2) the o-line can't double up on an end when they are busy preventing penetration by the tackles.
Parker is good but he's never been dominant. I see some quality guys on the ISU DL, however I don't see a unit that will field any particular guy who stands out in the pass-rushing category. Some of the ends might have decent speed and/or quicks ... however, there's then a definite trade-off when it comes to size. That then can make it hard for the guys to hold the edge. And, speaking of size again, that's likely a significant reason why Parker keeps on dealing with injuries ... the dude battles hard in the trenches and his body can only take so much.
And frankly, the guy who I feel will be the most promising guy on the interior will only be a RS FR. Thus, even though the kid will still likely be plenty disruptive ... he'll still also likely get exploited because he still has a ton to learn.
Lastly, it's not a strong argument when you have to rely upon an unproven JUCO guy to come aboard and make an instant big impact. Unlike other guys ... the new guy will still have to learn the system and develop chemistry with all the other guys. While Nelson still might be plenty good and end up being every bit as disruptive as advertised ... it remains a fact that he has yet to play a down at a D1 FBS level.

Nebraska's secondary will be among the best in the nation, just like it was last year. As in first in pass efficiency defense, 18th in total pass defense, and 7th in INTs.

That is true, no bones about it. But you're not going see to many teams with a better corner combo than Nebraska. I'm just sayin, calling the secondary "suspect" is a little harsh, don't you think?
I still think Nebby will have a solid defense, but they won't perform as well as last year (defensively).

As much as it pains me to admit, I agree with you. Amukamara is the NFL's pre-season highest ranked pro prospect. His grade is higher than Suh's was last year.
