MLB: Reds 12 Cubs 0

Most of this team needs to be dismantled. Start over is the best the Cubs can hope for.

Having never lived in Chicago, I guess I don't understand all the animosity toward the Cubs from other fanbases, especially when comparing Cubs fans to the Yanks or Red Sox. That being said, as a Cubs fan, I feel a lot of animosity toward Jim Hendry and the Cubs organization for signing a bunch of past-their-prime players to RIDICULOUS long-term contracts.

I love D-Lee and A-Ram, but they aren't producing right now and I don't know if they ever will at their former levels again. When you add that to the problems with Big Z, Soriano (until this year), and Kosuke, you've got issues. It's time to let Castro, Colvin, Byrd, and some good farm team talent develop a bit as a team, and hopefully Lou retires after this year so the organization can get a new manager and start to move on.

As a White Sox fan, I'll say it is simply due to their fanbase. Most of us like Lou, like guys like Derrek Lee, etc., but simply hate the Cubs fans.

I'm a Cubs fan and I don't like the Cubs fans. Honestly, I grew up liking both the Cubs and the Sox, but people get too riled up one way or the other. At least with a college, it is always "your team." In pro sports, not as much.

Unless something changes by season end, my guess is a lot of heads roll. The new owner will go to work.

Cubs' fans are mouthy . Plus the "local" central Iowa media keeps ramming them down our throats.

Sigh. I hate losing to that clown Dusty Baker. Thing is, these pampered players don't give a rip about stuff like that, they only care about getting paid.

I'm guessing that this is the most likely scenario. Unfortunately, none of the decisions that will need to be made are good ones; they all have some sort of downside.

byrd, colvin, and castro are the big three to build around. vitters will be coming up soon if aram keeps playing like this
