I don't know if we have done this on here.....but since it is a slow Friday before the 4th of July Weekend, why not have a little debate on the best QB in history. (Every sports guy has their opinion on this subject.) You know....because we're Americans......and we can.

The best, IMO....and it isn't even close.... Joe Montana. (My Fav. QB while growing up)

"A third-round selection by the San Francisco 49ers from the University of Notre Dame, Montana enjoyed a spectacular career filled with great comebacks and Super Bowl championships.
Throughout his career, Montana led his teams to 11 playoff appearances, nine divisional championships and victories in Super Bowls XVI, XIX, XXIII, and XXIV. His spectacular play in the Super Bowl games led to MVP trophies in three of the 49ers Super Bowl wins with the exception of Super Bowl XXIII. All-NFL three times, All-NFC five times, Montana was also selected to eight Pro Bowls and has career statistics of 40,551 yards, 273 touchdown passes, and 3,409 competitions with a 92.3 passing rating. Enshrined in the Hall of Fame this year along with former 49er great Ronnie Lott, Montana will always be known as a winner and one of the NFL's greatest quarterbacks. 1981 Topps houses Montana's rookie card. John Elway is the greatest football PLAYER to ever strap on shoulder pads. therefore, by default, he is the best qb as well

I agree w/ Elway.

Anytime someone is down by a score with less than 2 minutes to play, you can't tell me they don't wish they had Elway under center.

Elway was the king of the comeback, and I only wish I had been old enough to appreciate more of his career.

San Francisco was UNREAL in Tecmo Super Bowl.....they dominated.

I was also good with QB Eagles in that game!!! Haha....I love a "scrambler" action QB!!

If I had to go with a #2.... it would be Marino.

Give me Marino or Montana any day over John Elway.

Elway was a great QB....but Marino had "lesser" talent around him....and put up some unreal #s. I mean....some UNREAL #'s. Def...the greatest QB to NOT win it all.

Here's another question: who would you take now? Brady or Manning? I would take Brady easily.....

Answer....Titles.

If you factor in the talent each had to play with for most of their careers, then Elway did the most with the least.

exactly. he took mediocre teams to superbowls early in his career. they had absolutely NO running game until TD came along late in his career. i am a lifelong broncos fan and the only rb i can remember having any success prior to davis was gaston green and maybe sammy winder? sure they had the 3 amigos and karl mecklenberg, but i think the 3 amigos were DECENT because of Elway.
