I guess the Sun Times (and Buster Olney) is reporting that the Nats are trying to decide whether to sign him to an extension, or to deal him to the Sox.

White Sox, and I am not sure why. Does Pauly need some more time off or are they just that unhappy with Kotsay?

Kotsay. This would bump Kotsay to the bench role that he'd be much better in.

Dunn is a perfect fit for the White Sox. Perfect.

Dunn would be a sweet DH for the Chi Sox.....and it is going to be tight between 3 teams for a while I think after the all-star break.

I would be all for it! Would better help the Sox to another Central Title.

Agreed now that interleague is done he would help since we cant seem to beat anyone in the central

His lifetime average and strikeouts (195 in one year alone) scare the crap out of me, but it'd be nice to have a true DH, especially one with the RBI numbers he has. Not sure if Kotsay could play 3rd but with Vizquel playing the majority of games there maybe the Sox can move Mark Teahen. I don't know why we continue to pick up Royals rejects, I'm not sure if we've had one work out yet and we've had a few be disasters (Mike MacDougal).

Kotsay throws left handed so he won't be playing 3rd.

Do you also judge pitchers by their number of wins? Just curious.

Don't you feel he'd just rake in the New Yankee Stadium though....
We have Swisher and Teixiera to strike out 4,000 times/season. Don't need to add another. I HATE Adam Dunn solely because of how much he strikes out. Home runs don't win post season games. Putting the ball in play does. Post season normally boils down to the best pitching and who can manufacture runs. Dunn doesn't help that when he leads the universe in Ks.

The Sox desperately need the ability to drive in runs. Kotsay should never be a starter, nor should Vizquel. Teahen gets a lot of hate, I don't see him being moved, his OPS was actually like 4th on the team when he got hurt.

Who do they give up though? They have left themselves pretty bare after the Peavy and Pierre deals. I believe the Nats want young pitching in return....

Dan Hudson.

Well, I'm not worried about our pitching....

You do realize that he walks over 100 times a year, too, right? Doesn't that help manufacture runs (and also contributes to his high strikeout rate)?

Depending on where in the order he would hit (probably 3rd or 5th right now) he might need to move runners over and I just don't see him doing that. Don't get me wrong, anything is better than the current situation and I'd welcome Dunn. Viciedo would probably tradeable at this point also.
