fire these two clowns for making a good baseball team couple of years ago to go really really bad since

Lou I think gets a few more years. Hendry has run his course and needs to be replaced.

Lou is done after this season. He may 'retire' but he will be done. Sandberg is going to be given the job about a year earlier then Cubs management thought. Of course that could all be different now with new owners, they may want a whole new direction.

I don't think either get fired, but would not be surprised to see both go after this season. Lou to retirement. Jim deserves to find a way out with dignity. Has made some bad decisions, but is a good guy.

The next manager should be Bob Brenly or Joe Girardi. I can't see Sandberg being ready.

Hendry needs to go. He hasn't made a successful move since the Ramirez trade. Byrd was a pretty good one too. But he has had numerous flops and given big time contracts to aging pitchers who aren't giving the value back for the $$$$ paycheck

Fire Lou and not Jim...and actually the only reason I say don't fire Hendry is because I met him this week and he has a fire that I wish all the players had.

Ryne Sandberg was my hero growing up. Personally, I don't think he's ready and would like to see Brenly come out of the box and take care of business for 2-3 years while Sandberg can get some more experience in DM or as an asst. in Chicago.

Personally I would say keep them both, because I love seeing this. Without any bias though, I would have to say get rid of them both. They had a nice little run but it isn't working and it's not getting better. Time to cut them both loose and blow the thing up and start over. As much as it pains me to say this, baseball is better when the cubs are at least competing.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him be the bench coach next year.

Why would Brenly take the job knowing they are grooming his replacement?

Better paying then an announcer job and after a few years he can go onto his next stop?

Also, depending on where the cubs are at come All Star break, expect a firesale of sorts and try and rebuild (including the GM and Coach) These owners are too big of fans to allow something like this season to continue. This years team has had more games with less then 2 runs then I can ever remember any team having before (I dont have stats on this just a fans perspective)

Rename the team "the Harry Careys" and turn it into a reality show.
It's at the low point, EVER, (and that's saying something), and is failing even as a venue for yuppie scum.

There is talk that Sandberg may not wait for the Cubs job to open up and could take any job offered to him after this year. So unless the Cubs know they are making a move after this year, Sandberg may not be an option.

Also, is it Lou's fault that the following guys got ridiculously sick contracts:

Soriano - $19 mil
Zambrano - $18.9
Ramirex - $16.8
Fukadome - $14
Dempster - $13.5
Lee - $13.3
Lilly - $13

Isn't it the GM's fault when you can trade any of those guys for a bag of balls because they contracts are so horrible? And isn't it the GM's fault when you have the 3rd highest payroll and have been terrible for the last 2 years?

Every guy you have listed there was an all-star at one point. And it's not like they're all OLD. They just aren't performing the way they should. It is the manager's job to get the most out of his players and Lou isn't getting that job done AT ALL...
