USPS Junk Mail

Anybody have ideas on getting junk mail sent through the U.S. Postal Service, not in my name to stop being put in my mailbox. I have been getting junk mail in my mailbox for some time. Recently the amount of junk I get has increased quite a bit. Most of it is credit card offers but there has been other offers of junk too.

It has other peoples names but my address so it is put in my mailbox. I first started to just throw them away because it wasn't many but now am getting PO'd about it. I have also put on it return to sender and dropped it back in the mail. Haven't gotten any of those back but continue to get offers from the same companies.

I am the first and only occupant of my residence so I don't know how they got someone else's name with my address. It is the same peoples names over and over. Funny thing is I don't get any of the offers in my name. Earlier this week on the same day I got three envelopes for a credit card offer from Capital One, each one had a different name on it and my address.

I don't know, but I'm pretty certain that the USPS LOVES all the spam they send. It's pretty much the only thing keeping them from delivering 6 times/week. If everyone could somehow stop all of the marketing mail, ala the no-call list for telemarketing, the USPS would have enough volume to deliver 1-2/wk.

You should really consider checking your credit report! Someone may have stolen your identity!

If the return postage is prepaid, send them back...loaded with other junk mail offers or coupons.

We used to get a ton of the stuff. Several years ago, when the Do Not Call registry was started, there was a Do Not Send option, which allowed you to opt out of certain kinds of junk mail, including unsolicited financial offers i.e. credit cards.

We signed up for that and slowly, about 90% of our junk mail, including all credit card offers went away.

You might want to google "Do Not Send" and see what turns up...
