Good bars post game?

Mickey's has pitchers of beer for $3.50 and $2.50 Long Islands Thursday nights starting at 10 and free pizza and hot dogs. The bad thing is they only have a limited number of pitchers and I'm sure it'll be pretty packed as soon as the game is over so you'll have to fight to get one. Nevertheless I'd have to say Mickey's is my favorite bar in campustown.

Since when did Cy's Roost have a liquor license? from like '97-'03 I think they were on a "permanently suspended" license or something. Are they just on double secret probation now?

I don't know who the heck is telling this guy to go to Welch Ave. Station. That is the worst bar in Campustown. All it has is old people, pin ball machines and old people. Hit up Paddy's, Mickey's or Cy's Roost.

Hey now, what is wrong with old people?

Could not agree more. Go to Cy's or Mickey's.

I was never a fan of Mickey's. I'd say Cy's or Paddy's, they always draw a good crowd. Welch Ave if you want a more chill crowd or want to play pool. Avoid sips, despite what people are saying. It is a preppy frat bar unless things have drastically changed in the last few years.

They re-opened after the suspension was either lifted or they switched ownership sometime around 2002-ish. Although its definately not the Cy's of old - whole new look. I kinda like it, but a lot of old schoolers don't. The upstairs is still the pot-smokers bar though ... some things never change.

I'd say Paddy's is your best bet. I'm also thinking of Sips when you say frat bar, lots of shallow so-ho's thought. I'm not really a big fan of Welch Ave either unless you're into large women or good pizza.

I knew there was a reason I liked the Lost and Found.

mmmm...beer, wait I am at work until 12:30, just 3 more hours, wooo!! Dont go to Phuel, Club 8 or Welch Ave Station, even if they have no lines, way better bars to visit in Ames. Since when did Element switch to 18+, why did Jason Berryman get the boot then, must have happened this year.

Club 8 is gone, it will soon be the second Es Tas location. Element has always been 21+, Ames city ordinance forbids anyone under 21 in any bar.

By the way, Es Tas is a great place to go for some quick shots or tacos (I recommend not doing both at the same time)

Quit telling this guy to go to sips!! I guess you can go there is you like waiting 20 minutes for a beer while covering your ears to avoid the frat cheers every 5 minutes. I have never had a good time at Sips. If you've never been to the bars in Ames, I would suggest Paddy's or Mickey's. Too bad People's is gone...would have suggested that in a second.

Element is not 18+. Santa Fe and the Boheme are the only ones to every be 18+, and at Santa Fe its only if you're "that type" of girl.

What happened to the Deans List, talk about getting smashed for next to nothing...but it was always sausageville,USA. Still what became of the DL?

The DL! Nice!

That place was a sausage-fest, but on Mug Night you could fill a ~30 oz. mug with Long Island Iced Tea for $1.50, or something ridiculous like that, then watch the girls shake it on the dance floor from the balcony.

Good stuff.
