Thought I'd start this argument up again...

And people didn't believe me when I said that KO handled Clayborn. He was blowing him off the ball at times. The OL played well enough to win that game (and actually, the D did too before they got worn down). The problem was Herman not believing in the running game...something he didn't figure out until later in the season. I imagine this year, if iowa is going to basically give us the run by keeping their safeties back, ISU will run all day. I have a feeling, though, that they'll try to make Arnaud beat them with his arm. I would.

That just proves we should have won:jimlad:
If we don't throw the interceptions we win the game:jimlad:
The score said Iowa won but we were clearly the better team:jimlad:
It's Iowas super bowl:jimlad:

"I just didn't think they played as hard as they should have," Parker said. "On film, there didn't appear to be enough extra effort."

Parker smiled.

"We had a nice talk."

Classic Norm.
This really isn't surprising. The defensive line really struggled at the beginning of the year. I know Clayborn had commented that he it had taken several games for them to regain their legs after fall practices. And even Kirk admitted he had feared he had worked them too hard towards the end of practices.

It should be a great game. Iowa's defensive line can't afford to come out with the same effort and energy like they did last year and expect to win. Arnaud won't bail us out with a poor performance like he did last year.

Correct. I think it's really easy to look at that final score and forget just how well we ran the football in that game. At the half, I remember, I just couldn't believe we weren't running the ball on every play until Iowa decided to move the secondary up to stop it, but we came out just throwing and throwing and forcing horrible throws. I didn't understand it?

I don't think Robinson has anything to prove. He already proved he's pretty damn good.

He's still being called the 4th best RB in the conference. He's not getting his due respect. If he can stay healthy this season, he should be able to hit the 1,500 yard mark. We'll see.

Generally, he has nothing to prove. Against Iowa, I think he does.

It gets lost in the shuffle of Arnaud's awful play, but he had a back-breaking fumble in the 2nd quarter. I guarantee he hasn't forgotten it, and he's looking to get after it in this game.

Sure they do. Who would you put your money on?

It's tough, but I'd have to go with Herman first, and then Arnaud. Herman comes off as a bit brash at times, and Norm took him to the woodshed last year. Herman's play calling was as bad as Arnaud's passing.

If ISU doesn't win against Iowa (and they probably won't) next year, Arnaud will be the first ISU full-time starting QB since Todd Doxzon who didn't play in a victory over Iowa. I'm sure he's well aware of this, and he knows that he played a god awful game last year. A victory, or at least a strong performance would help his legacy.

Ask one person outside Iowa or the Big 12 North who Alexander Robinson is and they will have no idea. He has a lot to prove that he can follow up his season from last year, IMO.
