Heard the scouts hate his attitude so much so as it may affect his draft status. But I've been following the kid since he burst onto the national scene a couple years ago...No doubt the Strausburg and Bryce Harper combo would be a good one for the Nats.

He has the most violent swing I've ever seen. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the majors.

I see a J.D. Drew situation happening again. I don't understand why baseball players turn into head cases but I'm pretty sure Bryce Harper is a "can't miss" prospect.

There was a huge article on him in SI a year or two ago. Won't he be eligible for the draft this year?

Yes, he'll be the number one pick if the Nationals can afford it.

Not going to happen. The Nats would face as much criticism as if they would have passed on Strasburg.

I've read where they are cash-strapped from all the up-front money given to last years draft (including Strasburg). Much of it is me hoping they pass but I wouldn't be shocked if they did. His attitude has been criticized too.

In a game to go to the JUCO World Series, future #1 pick Harper went 6 for 6 with 4 HR's, a double, and a triple. This kid is still only 17 and should be a junior but he went JUCO so he could get to the league sooner. Will be the #1 pick for the Nats next year and will probably be in the bigs by the time he is 19. Incredible stats.

The Nats have pretty much already decided they are going to take him. That team has a chance at being pretty good in a couple of years. The question is, do you keep him behind the plate, or do you make him a corner outfielder?

You move either he or Zimmerman to Left Field and play the other at 3rd Base. He is not good enough defensively as a catcher to put the strain on his legs, a la Joe Mauer.

That is what I have read as well. They want to move Mauer, but the dude is a gold glove catcher. Harper would be better served as a corner infielder, but you don't want to put him at first because he has a howitzer for an arm. 3rd would be good, but then again Zimmerman is a gold glove 3B

The Nats owner is the richest owner is baseball. He should have no problem getting a player like that.

Yep, they will have no problem paying him and Strasburg. Plus with as bad as the Orioles are, if the Nats can build up some excitement they will get the majority of the people in that area to come to DC.

I think you have to move him unless he is a fantastic catcher. I also noticed he bats left and throws right. Can he be a switch hitter or is just left?
