MLB: Roy Oswalt asks for trade

I'm guessing Boston may be interested with the terrible start to the season they've had.

I doubt the management in Boston is ready to admit defeat and go after another ace pitcher who will likely cost a hefty prospect package. They're still hoping Beckett and Lackey can return to form (as am I!).

I would love to have him being a cards fan, but im guessing he will not be traded within the division. And I dont want the cards giving anything up to get him at this point, because Im guessing he is gonna garner a high price.

Cubs would have to give up someone from the group of Cashner, Colvin, and Castro to even be in the conversation and I don't see that happening. Cubs problem is not starting pitching right now either

I hope you're joking. The front office has done plenty this season to set the team up for success.

The front office for the Twins has made some very good moves......they just typically don't go after the "big fish" that may be out there.

Haha, I wondered how long until a Cubs fan would say to go get him.

Bowden's targets do make sense.

Oh yeah forgot about our front office.

at least you have a front office. right now we are in one of the nastiest team sales i have ever seen. i mean mlb took offer the team last summer because hicks defaulted on his loans. now the lenders wont approve the sale to greenberg/ryan because they want more money. and unfortuantely they know there was a higher bid out there so they know they can get more money. meanwhile, we lead the (weak) division and nolan is still president but this isnt going to end soon.

Jim Bowden tweets that Los Angeles, Minnesota, and Texas are among the most realistic destinations for Oswalt.

Huh.. LA maybe, although I don't see him going somewhere else in the NL. I don't that Minnesota can pay him, especially with Mauer locking up so much of the cashflow. The Rangers would be a cool fit if they can get their act together. Oswalt in the AL would be nasty though, someplace like the Angels or maybe my beloved ChiSox just to get a steady 5 man rotation.
