Texas 7, Nebraska 9, Oklahoma 12 in CBS Post-Spring Rankings

I think people should jump on Boise State's bandwagon. They return 21 out of 22 starters from an undefeated team.

Just like Georgia 2 years ago. They were supposed to have won the NC. Didn't work out so well.

What happens if Boise goes undefeated, and there are 2 or more one-loss teams from the Big 10/Big 12/SEC? Does Boise get left out?

Sucks for Boise. People bang on them for their schedule but when they have the opportunity to play top schools, they usually show up. I'm sure there aren't a whole lot of teams out there that want to play them knowing that they could easily lose to Boise and fall in the rankings pretty quickly. I think if non conference softies like Penn St. put them on their schedule, Boise would have a heck of a shot to win.
Well Boise does play Virginia Tech this year, who could be top 5 and will definitely be top 10.

The schedule Georgia played was MUCH tougher than what Boise State will face. Plus Boise State has four undefeated regular seasons in the past decade, so running the table is nothing new for them. The only difference is that they will start this season in the top five.

Yes, that will help but if I were a top team in the country I would be a little nervous about having to play Boise because if you are a BCS team and lose a game or potentially two you still have a BCS shot while Boise knows they have to run the table to go to a BCS.

Another "post-spring" ranking has come out. CBS Sports lists Alabama #1 (no surprise there) and Boise #2 (their schedule has a lot of people jumping on their bandwagon). In the Big 12, Texas comes in at #7, Nebraska #9 and Oklahoma #12. Iowa, by the way, comes in at #8.

Oklahoma finishes the season outside the top 25 and jumps up to number 12...what a joke. They have four new starters on the OL and 6 new starters on offense and they lost half the defense. Someone needs to tell me how they can jump to #12. The fact that they have been chasing down JUCO OL tells me they aren't ahppy with what they have there either.

Nobody will play Boise State. That is why they need to get into the Big 12 or Pac 10 if possible? No big name program wants to risk losing against Boise St.

A cupcake win over North Texas St Tech looks WAY better on your resume than a loss to Boise St. Even more reason why we need a playoff system.

You're dead on, clonedude!

Probably the same thing that happened last year. As long as computers are part of the BCS equation, as the season drags on Boise will continue to fall whether they win or not because of the weakness of their schedule. One-loss teams from power conferences will always trump them. Only chance they'll have is if top teams from BCS conferences have two losses.
