Iphone-Itunes sync question

My hard drive crashed on my pc. I have recently replaced the pc with a laptop. How do I get the songs on the Iphone into the Itunes music library on the laptop. If I try to do a snyc it saids it is going to wipe out what I have on the Iphone with what I have in Itunes. I don't want that I want what I have on the phone to go to Itunes. I have only been able to get the songs that I purchased to move from the Iphone to Itunes library.

There is no way to legitimately do this and not wipe out any non purchased music. Welcome to iWorld. I can't make any suggestions because I've never tried any of it. But if you do a google search for your issue, you'll turn up all kinds of options.

I know this doesn't help you now, but I bought an inexpensive external hard drive and use that to back up my music files every couple of months. (make sure you copy over the music from your hard drive, not from iTunes.

well i thought having it on my phone and pc would be sufficient in case one breaks, I'd have a backup but I guess thats not the case. if you can't pull the songs off the phone.

Yeah, it should work that way. Don't worry, you aren't the first to find out the hard way that it doesn't. A friend of mine informed me of the same issue they had. That's the only reason I chose to also back up my music files.
