Hoiberg Up Next on 1700 with Cotlar

I'm sure Cotlar will ask him some good questions......

"Fred did you see 2 years ago when Drake won the MVC?"

Larry - Welcome back to central Iowa Fred!

Fred - Thanks Larry. Question before we go any further. How the heck do you stay on the air?

Larry - Lack of other options, mainly.

Fred - Oh. I figured it had to be something like that.

"Fred, we know about your success as an NBA player, but that's not important. Let's get to some real questions....what kind of music do you like?"

At this point, I'd rather hear him on Larry's show, than Perrault's.

(unless Chris is guest-hosting)

Well I am far from a Larry fan...drives me nuts most of the time, but giving credit where credit is due, I listened to the first hour after the presser and he was very positive. His co-host was ragging on the lack of experience and Larry was actually getting rather worked up in his defense of the hire.

Gotta say 1700 is crushing 1460 on this. I can't believe they went back to Rome instead of having some additional coverage of the presser.

I don’t' care so much if the host is positive or negative….as long at they can back- up their opinion (and show respect to those with differing opinions….uhhm….Matt P) . Larry's opinions are generally so surface level, they add nothing to the discussion (whether they be positive or negative). I think that is most people's beef with him. He's not interesting because he never has interesting takes on things. He's Mr. Obvious.

Garmin is not much better. Again…adding nothing to most discussions that the average fan hasn't already thought of themselves.

LMAO! You nailed the entire interview.

Larry: We now welcome the mayor to 1700 the Champ...good morning Fred. What do you think of Mark Phelps head coach of Drake?

Fred: never heard of him.
