I have only been to one Cubs game ever and that was when I was a kid about 20 years ago, anyone have any advice on Tickets, are the bleachers worth it? Any other good sections to sit in? I was thinking about going in late May when the Cards are in town. Thanks for any help.

You are going to pay out your rear for bleacher tickets to a Cards game. If you are with kids, you probably won't want to sit in the bleachers. If you're not, I've always thought sitting in the bleachers was worth paying a little extra. If you are a big Cubs fan, you have to experience the bleachers at least once.
Look on Stub Hub and see if you can get tickets in advance. You do NOT want to try to get tickets off a scalper at Wrigley during their rivalry series
I want to kinda sit in the bleachers while we are still young, its make the game that much more of an experience to me. Looking at STubhib, general admission bleachers are about the same price as anywhere else, minus the nosebleeds above homeplate.
Tickets are usually still available for week day games. Just picked some up myself last week. Weekends are usually sold out, or nothing worth getting, so StubHub comes to mind, but the prices are always inflated.
Try this website for a "Buyers Guide" to Wrigley tickets. The main thing to gain from it are the locations of the columns that obstruct views.

My favorite two places to sit in Wrigley are either in the 400 section, preferably 417-420 (right above home plate, and right below the pressbox) or in the bleachers. The 400 section for the view of the game, and the bleachers for the drunk of it.
The downside to the bleachers is that if you have to make a trip to the bathroom, prepare to miss about an inning of action each time. And figure on missing about a half inning to go on a beer run. Also, you have to get to the stadium at least an hour before the gates open (a total of three hours before the first pitch), if you want to have any say as to where you sit.
That being said, some of my best times have been in the bleachers. I was out there when Kerry Wood hit his HR vs the Marlins in Game 7 in 2003, and I've never experienced anything like that in my experience of attending sports...

im pumped, they are in milwaukee this weekend, so ill be there at least twice. as for the game, if you dont get bleachers, be sure to sit out from under the terrace. you will almost freeze. once went to a game, wore shorts and a t-shirt when i was standing out for bp, then put on jeans a sweatshirt and bought a coat i was so cold under the terrace. early june game i believe. good luck, and have an old style for me!:yes:

This is a little off topic, but if you're making a trip to Wrigley and the Cubs are out of town you really need to do the tour. Reasonably priced and you get to see a lot of cool stuff.

I Agree. I did it a few summers ago and it was great. Only downside to it was they were playing the White Sox that afternoon so the Home Locker Room was being used by the players so we did not get to see it.
I hate the bleachers. Too many idiots that are just there to drink beer. Nobody is watching the game. Drives me crazy.

Its funny you say that. Just pick up tickets for section 433. For the value, they are one of the better ones to get, and you don't have to worry too much about the columns, or massive overhang obstructing your view.
I got tickets to the Cincinnati game on July 1. Should be a good game!
Cards is a Hot Ticket probably $100+ a tix for Bleachers on the weekend. Try StubHub and Craig's list. you can't beat Murphy's Bleachers for Beers before and after. Casey Moran's Roofdeck is nice too.
Whatever you do go to yak-zies. Not the one in wrigleyville kitty-corner from the stadium the original one that is a mile south on Diversey. I got kicked out of there when I was 20 and it is the bomb. It is a huge old stone house and Yak-sies is in the basement with two amazing wood bars. I went to the one in Wrigleyville last year and it was ok but too commecialized for me. The basement yak-sies is the ****. Google it, it will be worth your time.
