Before all of you start bashing soccer(football) in this thread I would like to say a few words on Lionel Messi. He is without a doubt, at this stage in the season, the greatest footballer on the planet. Furthermore, he is arguably the greatest athlete on the planet too. Did anyone see what he did to Arsenal, an English powerhouse, today? 4 world class goals that were done almost completely by his own work. He is one of the quickest players in the world and has easily the best dribbling skill not seen since Maradona. The only major skill he is lacking is aerial dominance due to his short stature. The little man is 22 years old and is already being considered one of the greatest to ever play the game. If he helps Barcelona repeat the Champions League, wins World Player of the Year again, and helps Argentina deep into the World Cup, these talks may just be true. I am a Man United supporter myself, but holy lord Lionel Messi is unbelievable and I strongly recommend watching him if you are able to.

All I know is he killed my streak on ESPN Streak for the Cash...I'm not happy with him right now...

As an Arsenal fan, it's hard to watch a performance like that. While I do appreciate it, it did come against a SEVERELY depleted Arsenal squad. That being said, 4 goals is 4 goals...and he's had several other hat tricks already this year.

P.S. bigredqb7, your picture of Rooney is a little outdated! AIG? Come on, man! Haha, kidding!

Messi is sick. I will be in England watching Fulham v Wolverhampton on the 17th. Can't wait to see Clint Dempsey in action!

I've heard about this guy and I don't like soccer so he must be awesome.

However I have a hard time believing anybody but LeBron is the best athlete in the world. To be as athletic as he his at his height and body type is just unreal.

Straight up or was it Messi goals vs. Arsenal goals? The holders, in the Nou Camp, 2nd leg of UCL, and with Arsenal sans Fabregas, Song, and Arshavin ... Barca were never going to lose that match.

He is definitely an excellent footballer. and deserved his four goals, but with a very severly depleted squad that arsenal put out yesterday its not too much to brag about. He's had a number of hat tricks against good competition...

And Go Bayern!

Wayne Rooney starts? More mind games from Sir Alex...Robben still hits a double and wins it for Munich.

Messi is the increvable. He's such a little genius. Will be the best ever.

haha well it is still the sponsor of the team until next season. no clue how rooney is starting besides saf mind game saying his injury is worse than it was. if rooney compounds the injury today many questions will be asked as to why he was playing

And Go Bayern!

It's not like Barca was either. No Puyol, Pique, or Ibra.

And yes, go Bayern!
