Too bad she didn't show up to the 4:00 show... I was looking forward to it. They kinda panicked a little but pulled it off wonderfully with the back-up singer who had never sang the song before.

Yeah, she did a great job. Was disappointed that we missed John Cheatem though because the kid can sing.

John knocked it out of the park Sunday night-amazing.

John is awesome. Could not believe the notes he hit last night...real nice person, too...after band practice last summer I heard some killer piano playing going on in the adjacent room and it was John just freelancing...he is uber talented.

This is a mega church they do things differently...

You can praise God by yourself, with 100 people around, or 3000 people around. If the intent is right, what does it matter? Jesus preached to thousands, to hundreds, and to individuals.

I went to 9:15 and she didn't sing. To bad. Thought she was good on American Idol.

That Jon kid though is simply amazing. One of the best singers I have ever heard

Jon, I completely agree. I am sorry if my post offended you. I guess I was just commenting that way because the person that I quoted was seemingly talking about all churches. That type of large church is not my cup of tea but if the people that go there are connecting with God then that is great, that is the whole point.

Whereas you and Deace try to preach to thousands, but people begin turning the station, leaving you with hundreds, and finally when most have had enough, your audience is reduced to individuals.

Interesting. Do they sell tickets, or do you just show up?

I don't know if you are sniping here, or just asking an honest question. Katelyn is a member of this Church. This Church's talent is unreal. The Christmas Eve service was unreal - the level of musical talent on display. Just 'regular' people with extraordinary musical ability.

John Cheatem has been mentioned in this thread. Yes, he is very good, but I felt several other singers who soloed at Christmas Eve made him look like a rookie (and that is not to slight him, but give indication of the talent of the others.

And, Yes, he did sing in the same service as did Katelyn. And no, I did not think Katelyn was to sing any other service than the last service on Saturday - at least that is what was announced the Sunday prior.

sat directly in front of you last night Jon. I had the boys that were a bit 'busy'.

The end of the service was powerful...

wife is in choir-they all were under impression that she was to sing at the 4:30. Who cares...mistakes happen, it was covered etc.

Since I have a little one year old that is uneasy, I don't even notice things like that :) Too busy trying to tend to my own house.
