MLB: Fantasy Baseball

Alright baseball guys. I have the #4 pick tonight. It is a keeper league. I am assuming Pujols and Hanley go 1-2 in the draft. Who do I take #4?

Braun?
Longoria?
Utley?
ARod?

I would say Utley or Longoria. Its really a tossup between those two.

I would take Utley; would get you a good number of steals, dingers and rbis. Also, doesn't strike out a lot. ARod is injury prone, Braun can be inconsistent. I would take Longoria if Utley is taken....
Just my two cents.

I'd take Braun or maybe even Kemp or Fielder. they are all about 26-27 years old. Braun and Kemp are 5 tool players. Utley and Arod are older and probably on the down side of their careers.

Braun is a great fantasy player but OF is deep, 2B isn't.

That is why I was leaning heavily towards Utley or Longoria. Just went with Braun though. We will see

OF is deeper, but in a keeper league, it's hard to argue against Braun. With your first pick in a keeper league, you can't miss on that pick.

Braun was a great pick in the keeper league. I had the #2 pick and went with Arod this year. If it was a keeper league, I'd have gone with Hanley, Braun, or Longoria. Probably in that order.

The more I think about it I like it. Braun has put up ridiculous #'s his first three years and we are keeping 4 guys a year, for 6 years. Then we will start over.

I got Braun, Justin Upton, Adrian Gonzalez (please trade him!), CC Sabathia, and Victor Martinez with my top 5 picks

sounds like you got a pretty good outfield 85 ... i had mine last night also and ended up with the last pick so i took lincecum and kemp ... some reason all the top 1B went high and didn't wana reach ... so i was able to wait and grab sandavol and roberts the 2nd time around ... did build a pretty nice pitching staff including lincecum, lee, hamels, and garza

I also got Adam Lind and Jason Kubel in the outfield. A lot of pop but not much speed. I missed on some of the pitchers I wanted so I went heavy on the closers. Worst case I have them as trade bait now

exactly what i was thinking with my starting pitchers ... wasnt really chasing them as they were usually the best players availible but since i had back to back picks it allowed me to go position player followed by pitcher ...
