Josh Lenz injured

Good thing we're going to be super deep at WR. Hopefully he comes back healthy... from the way the tidbit was written he may have just gotten the wind knocked out of him bad and was taken to get XRAY's for safety reasons.

We aren't "super deep" at WR. We have allot of bodies at WR, that doesn't mean you are "super deep" at it.

Not true at all. We have Johnson, Darks, Williams, all with good game experience. We're deep.

Williams and Darks are the only two to really show they can make big plays in a game.

We can HOPE we have depth.. but I totally see the concern. We dont have many PROVEN play makers at WR.

we also have some good jucos coming in

Agreed. We have a lot of guys on the roster... lots of htem with really high 'recruiting rankings'. We have only a handful that have proven to make really big plays during games.

Money, Darks, Williams have.

We have a lot of POTENTIAL at WR. It hasn't proven very much yet, IMO. It seems that not a year goes by without us saying how deep of a receiving corps we have, yet since Blythe's sophomore year, and some good play by Sumrall in '08 and Hamilton last year, no one's really been a difference maker at that position for us.

One of they keys for success this year, is to have someone blow up at that position.

Sorry but none of them have shown they can be a big time threat in the Big 12. We have a lot of bodies right now but it is hard to say we have depth

What other position would you prefer to lose someone at? O-line? Nope. LB? Nope. DL? Nope. I'd say we're deeper talent wise at WR than any other position on the field. I understand the statement that not a lot of guys are "proven", but that could be said with any position.

Spoke to brother last night, Josh will be fine. No worries Fanatics:no:

That's great news!

As for the WR position overall, we have more than enough depth numbers wise. If none of them are Big 12 caliber, then that falls completely on our scouting ability. But I hate it when anyone says we don't have enough depth at this position.

We have.....

Darks
S. Johnson
Money
Lenz
Williams
Blanton
Jennert
Range
Gary
Young
Jarvis West

That's 11 scholarship WR's for basically 3 positions. That's enough. As I said, if you are going to argue that these 11 aren't any good, that's a different argument completely. That falls on scouting. But it isn't like we've ignored this position.

Good to hear. How's your brother enjoying spring practice? I assume this extra year to study the playbook, and watching it in action is going to make it a lot easier on him getting back out on the field.

He's a competitor! He'd get pumped up to play paper football if it were a game going! The coaches are teaching him new positions so that he can be used more! I'm excited!
