If you could get Johnny Dawkins from Duke would you hire him .
All I know is this may be the most critical hire in the history of ISU sports. ISU is a basketball school. We can't have another bad experiment. I think Dawkins might be from the Chicago area?
No. If I were JP I would see if I could get Mike Davis.
I like Davis but I don't see how pollard sells hiring a coach fired from somewhere else.
Everyone seems to be on board with BG who was fired at Kentucky. I would be completely on board with Mike Davis, he's doing a terrific job at UAB.
I like Davis but I don't see how pollard sells hiring a coach fired from somewhere else.
And I really don't get the Billy love. Maybe it would work, who knows. I'm just against bringing in any coach who was fired. Just a tough sell right now. We need to inject winning in to this program, to me that is a coach who hasn't been fired.
And injests alcohol frequently. Not gonna happen. He's a helluva coach though. I'd take him. Administration won't.There are lots of coaches that have been fired that would be great.
Billy is a winner on the court:
02-03 UTEP 6-24 (3-15)
03-04 UTEP 24-8 (13-5) NCAA 1st round
04-05 A$M 21-10 (8-8) NIT Quarters
05-06 A$M 22-9 (10-6) NCAA 2nd round
06-07 A$M 27-7 (13-3) NCAA Sweet 16
07-08 UK 18-13 (12-4) NCAA 1st round
08-09 UK 22-14 (8-8) NIT Quarters
He may be other things, but he injects winning
And injests alcohol frequently. Not gonna happen. He's a helluva coach though. I'd take him. Administration won't.
Oh, i agree. I take nothing from him for getting fired from KY. His behavior is what lost his job more than anything. HE IS A HELL OF A COACH! I would love to have him here!I understand that reason for not wanting or going for Billy, but that has nothing to do not "injecting winning" because he was fired.
Tony Bennett just makes a lot of sense to me. I think he might leave UVA to come to ISU for the right price.
