MLB: MLB Division Realignment

Why would you put the cubs and White Sox in the same division as proposed in one case? That would kinda defeat the purpose of having two teams in the same city.

All of those are just completely stupid.

So you would rather the AL east just be a two team division with the others having no chance??? Unless there is a salary cap installed, the Yanks and Sox have a monopoly on that division and that's just not fair to the rest of baseball.

so yeah, split them up so they can dominate 2 divisions and be even less fair to the rest of baseball? :skeptical:
Also, the proposed radical AL Atlantic is still just a 2-team division.

I know that it's a rough map, but his geography/team placement skills need some work.

On topic though, I say leave the divisions alone.

Rays had one lucky run and then the Yanks decided they better go spend another bazillion and ended that. Speaking of which......do the Yankees even have farm teams? And if so, what do they use those teams for? Grooming future trade bait perhaps?

I'd be all for the radical realignment. Sox would compete with Cardinals most years and then the Cubs and Brewers would compete every once in a while. Sorry Royals fans, I don't see anything changing for you guys no matter what.

I'd say they have a monopoly over all of baseball. Might as well screw everybody and put one of them in the National League.

I think MLB should have a salary cap and revenue sharing like the NFL does. I'm also probably in the minority on that.

Not only did he introduce a conference realignment when nobody even suggests doing so, but he also created new teams. What an embarrassing piece from a professional sports writer.

The Yankees and Red Sox will see to that never happening. I would hope you aren't in the minority, but it seems like no one in baseball cares to change things.

The Royals/Orioles/other crappy teams don't want to see it. Then they don't see luxury tax $$$$$$.

Ken Rosenthal proposes 3 different scenarios for realignment. Scroll to bottom of article to see all 3. As a Twins fan, I'd be all for the Radical one. But the Modest one and the Revenue one, no way. I want no part of the Red Sox or the Cards!!

Just looking at that map made my brain hurt. Who switches leagues if the Cubs and WSox are in the same division? Try this on for size:

Move Houston out of the NL Central and into the NL West, making the NL West 5 teams. Move KC into the NL Central, and put Milwaukee back into the AL Central.

Not sure what to do with Pittsburgh.

Could potentially cancel each other out??? Don't know the interworkings of MLB money, but seems like common sense to me??
