ESPN.com's box score says the attendance was around 11,200! Nice job! The previous week when the men took on #11 K-State the attendance was 12,600. Good job by the fans turning up for such a big game. Let's keep it up!

That might have been paid attendance but I was at both games and there were way more actual butts in the seats for the men's game. The women do a great job in attendance regardless.

It was a good turnout though. It was almost a shame that we ran away with it so early and the crowd didn't get much of a chance to flex it's muscles.

On the Big 12 site it looks like Nebraska is reporting passing ISU in attendance for conference games only. If true, good for them. They are having a dream season!

See page 16...

Wouldn't be surprising, since their attendance should be growing as the season goes on. Early in the season, however, I don't think too many people were interested. For instance, early in the season when the CRUSHED Washington St. 107-54, listed attendance was only 3593. By comparison, the ISU women drew 9922 to a 40pt win over Florida Atlantic the previous week.

It will be interesting to see if Nebraska retains that high level of support next year. Looking at volleyball, if they can keep performing at an elite level I'd imagine they will. Not sure if there is a drop off in performance after this year though.

Agreed.

It is just nice to see kNU fans recognize a good thing and come out and support it. The way those girls are playing they deserve to play in front of a packed house at home regardless if most of them are bandwagon fans.

Their team has 6 seniors, including four of their top 5 scorers and 2 of their top 3 rebounders. Their assist leader, however, is a Freshman.

Then it will definitely be interesting to watch if fan support remains high through what should be a rebuilding year for them.

NU is likely to have a larger tally for conference games. Everyone loves a winner; I suspect they'll return to normal next year unless Yori brings in some new front line talent. Of more immediate concern is this week. They may have the largest weeknight crowd of the season for ISU. I'm a little concerned that this will be the largest, most hostile crowd that our frosh have seen. They responded well under pressure at Texas, but, there were 4800 in the seats - less than half of what they'll see this week. But, there will be at least two friendlies.

Hopefully Aus can keep the team calm, that girl has got ice in her veins. Also, Pop and Schroll just seem like the types that would feed off a hostile crowd. Maybe that's just me.

this team is comng together so well it's insane.. I didn't go back and look but I am pretty sure that the first game was one of if not the closest game nebraska has had this season.. I really think this will be a close game that the team with the most hustle plays will win

Nearly every time ISU has played at NU in the past decade, the Huskers have had some sort of cheapo promotion -- $1 tickets, free tickets, $1 dogs/Pepsi, kids get in free -- to get butts in the seats. The Iowa State game has always been circled on Yori's calendar.

I love the energy that Pop and Schroll expend during their games. I don't think they need any encouragement.
