I know it's a little earlier to make predictions for next year, but i like to think a head. Don't think i'm giving up on this years team. I'm just curious what other people think might happen next year, especially if a with a few of these circumstances.

Brackins stays another year
McDermott gets one more year to prove himself
We lose Gilstrap, but JVB gets a medical redshirt and returns
No one transfers away from the program

I feel that we may be vastly improved next year even with the loss of gilstrap. Hamilton will continue to improve offensively. Brackins returns and motivated to get his name back into the conversation to get into the NBA. With the circumstances above i think we may have to talent, and finally some a good amount of senior leadership that may take us to some kind of postseason play.

wow, all negative. I'm just saying if these things all happen. I think colvin will be gone too, but what if he stays. I was just with all the circumstances i said before if they all happened what did other people think the team would be like next year. I doubt they will all happen.

my prediction is that fans will complain and ***** and moan about how things aren't like they used to be and blame anything and everything they can think of, but especially the coach. Regardless of the outcome.

Randy Bennett is introduced as the new head coach
Iowa State goes 21-9, NCAA birth...
Gilstrap is granted another year
Brackins stays, thusly gambling his already fragile future....

Same old crap. ****** defense, ****** rebounding, ****** offense, ****** guard play, ****** everything. 2 conference wins and our high point for the season squeaking out a home win vs. Drake.

I think that they have a chance to be really good if everything falls together right. Having either Brackins or Gilstrap back would certainly help. Need to see some growth in everyone's game, but I like the potential of Colvin, Hamilton and Dendy. Christopherson is a player that I like as well, because he's just solid. It's been a bit of a streaky year for him.

More "blame it on the fans"! Seeing this almost enough that Milli Vanilli should come back out of hiding for a remake of "their" hit single.

Outlook for next year just isn't good, unless we see some sort of drastic change start to take place this season.

fans are like shareholders of a company. Pollard and the coaches are the upper management of the company. Should we the "shareholders" who supply the money flow for the company through donations and ticket sales are not happy of what our management is suppling us we will ***** and moan until we have enough shareholders together and remove current managers to find ones that will do the job like we want.

So if McD has another year of what we are experiencing, Pollard will have the job of removing him and finding someone else, should he chose to stick with McD the shareholders or fans will remove Pollard and the new AD will remove McD.

So the ******* and moaning has to happen before change does!

Brackins and Gilstrap leave for the draft at the end of this season. At least one player transfers. We bring in two jucos late this spring. We finish 2-6 games below .500, 10th-12th in conference. Attendance drops. McDermott and Pollard negotiate a buy-out after the season, probably in the $2-3M range. We miss on our first two coaches and hire a mid-major coach with little name recognition. We'll have had a chance at a big name but Pollard will balk at the price tag and won't even interview him. That coach ends up getting hired somewhere else and leads his team to a 21-10 record his first season. Iowa State sees marginal improvement, moving up to 9th in conference, finishing with a 17-14 record, but no postseason invite.

Pretty bleak, I know. But I haven't seen anything in the last 3 years that indicates it'll be any better next year. We'll finally get rid of McD, but whiff on our next hire as well.

were bad.. and will continue to be bad for a long time

This. It is going to get much worse before it gets better. Brackins is gone because playing in the D-League is a better option then playing at ISU right now, Gilstrap should bolt even if he gets another year from the NCAA, Colvin most likely is going to bolt, etc.....

GMAC won't get fired and we will lose what little talent we have. IF you think Iowa is horrible this year you better pay close attention because we may be even worse then that next year.
