I feel sorry for the players.

However, I am not going to rip on Iowa fans too much for not showing up when ISU didn't have a full house at Jack Trice when the North title was on the line.

Glass houses, my friends (Goes for both Iowa and Iowa State fans)

I understand the point you are trying to get across, but seriously...2,000 fans?

There is a big difference between not showing up to watch a good product(pretty decent ISU FB team) vs not showing up to watch an absolutely pathetic product. I can understand why no one wants to go Iowa BB games. Lickliter should be gone after this season.

Jack trice was not at 20% capacity for that game either. Not even close to similar comparisons.
I think this is what ISU fans may become of our program if improvement is not made in a hurry.
How many years ago was Iowa a 3 seed? 3? 4?
Its been longer than that since we've been in the post season so it can quickly get bad.

Not at 20 percent capacity, wartknight? Where did you get your facts, Hawkeye Nation? 20 percent means there would have been only 9,000 people there, so you are WRONG. I was at the game. It was at least 60 to 65 percent capacity.

What we have here, is a couple of stonethrowers. So much for me playing nice.

He's saying that JTS was much more full than 20%. It was about 70%.

I didn't take it like that, but I apologize if that's so. My point was that I am not going to rip on Iowa fans for not showing up for basketball when ISU can fill up Jack on a big game.

Do you really think ISU is close to drawing only a couple of thousand people just two years from now?

The game was played on Thanksgiving weekend when all of the students were gone and many fans were out of town visiting relatives, but most critics conveniently omit that fact.

What was attendance like for ISU football the last 2 seasons with **** poor seasons? Exactly. I think this says quite a bit about the iowa fans.

Just like last night for Iowa all the students are still gone for Christmas break and it was an 8pm tip on a Tuesday against a nobody, but most critics conveniently omit that fact. :jimlad:

I don't know why anyone here even cares what attendance is like anyway, but from what I saw on tv Saturday I don't think Hilton had over 10,000 for North Dakota State as it looked like the upper deck was pretty empty. Just sayin..

Comparing football to basketball attendance is like apples to oranges. Regardless of how bad the football team is people will still go just for the tailgating if nothing else. When Iowa was going 1-10 and 3-8 in KF's first 2 years they were still getting 55,000 to 65,000 people there.

Compare the capacity % then. It makes perfect sense to me. Fans either show up or they don't. If they dont, even if the product is bad, that speaks volumes for the fanbase.

Actually, the attendance was announced at just under 13,000 and I would say it was at least 11,500 actual attendance (none of that "tickets sold" crap Iowa puts out to try to lessen how pathetic attendance at basketball games at CHA are). I was at the game and for being a Saturday afternoon, still on winter break, where student tickets aren't valid, that's a huge number. So trying to justify a winter break theory and trying to say ISU's attendance was poor Saturday are both ridiculous and untrue. Plus, how do you know what an attendance of 10,000 would look like? It takes Iowa 3 or more games to achieve that at CHA.

You must have missed this part in my post: :jimlad:

Now you can take a deep breath and settle down.

I assume you're only talking about Iowa basketball now (not that big ISU football game that always get brought up). Right?
